Sigh...this guy has NOT been having a good time, when you look at the chronology. He was acquitted in July...not quite four months ago. Since then, by that article:
Quote:

Over the summer, authorities were called to a domestic dispute involving Zimmerman and his wife, Shellie Zimmerman, shortly after she filed for divorce.

Shellie Zimmerman accused her estranged husband of punching her father and threatening them at the father's home on Ridgewood Road.

In the end, no charges were filed against Zimmerman in the case.

Zimmerman was also accused by his wife's mother of stealing property from her Lake Mary home, where Zimmerman had been staying.

Police are reviewing the case to determine if it will be a civil or criminal matter.

Zimmerman was also pulled over twice for speeding, once in Texas where he was let off with a warning and another time in Lake Mary, where he was issued a $256 ticket.

And he drew controversy for visiting the Kel-Tec gun manufacturing company in Cocoa, where he toured the facility and posed for a photo with a worker at the plant.

...looks like somebody reeeely needs to mellow out....

The girlfriend in today's incident is saying she is pregnant - which automatically elevates this to a felony charge.

Well, he's been charged:
Quote:

Zimmerman Charged With Aggravated Assault After Allegedly Pointing Gun At Girlfriend

George Zimmerman was charged Monday with felony aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend, according to Dennis Lemma, chief deputy with the Seminole County, Florida, Sheriff's Office.

Zimmerman was arrested after the incident at the home of Samantha Scheibe, Lemma said. He also was charged with two misdemeanors -- domestic violence battery and criminal mischief -- in connection with the same incident, Lemma said.

Zimmerman is being held in jail without bail and will make his first appearance in front of a judge Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

According to a police report on the incident, Scheibe said that after an argument Zimmerman broke a table with a shotgun then pointed it at her "for a minute."

Scheibe called 911 at 12:30 E.T., Lemma said.

On a 911 call recording released by police, a woman can be heard telling authorities: "He's inside my house breaking all my (things) because I asked him to leave."

The woman then says to someone at the house, "I'm doing this again? You just broke my glass table. You just broke my sunglasses and you put your gun in my freaking face and told me to get the (expletive) out."

When deputies arrived at the house, Scheibe gave them a key. When they pushed open the door -- which was blocked by several small pieces of furniture -- they found Zimmerman, who was sitting and unarmed, Lemma said.

The sheriff's office was seeking a search warrant to look for two guns deputies believed were inside the home, he said. According to the police report, Zimmerman had locked up the guns before police arrived. http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/18/justice/florida-george-zimmerman-arrest/

Man does seem to like his guns, he does.

Niki, some how you have confused me with the MSM, who invented the term 'White Hispanic', primarily to make it a race issue.

I personally don't see how this guy gets ANY girl, to be honest. With the reported run ins w/ his ex wife, the negative notoriety he received from the trial, and apparently having no job. Sounds like a real catch.

Only GZ wasn't a " White Hispanic', until the NYT decided to label him as such.

You know what's funny? I never heard or read "White Hispanic" ANYWHERE but from Rap--so if the NYT dubbed him that, it didn't get picked up much, and I read a lot of articles on the subject during the trial when we were discussing it daily. Obviously it stuck in Rap's brain, stayed there, and he's quick to regurgitate it when Zimmerman comes up.

And apparently Rap has missed the news that Z's attorney didn't just defend him during the trial and that's all he was supposed to do, O'Mara JUST officially QUIT representing Zimmerman when he had this last little ruckus with his ex-wife (he's been Z's attorney on a couple of other things relating to the trial and other stuff):
Quote:

Mark O'Mara will no longer work for Zimmerman, whom he represented throughout his murder trial in the death of Trayvon Martin

Mark O'Mara, who represented Zimmerman when he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, made his shock announcement that he would be leaving his client as police continued their investigation into the warring couple.

ABC News reported that O'Mara appeared to struggle with his anger at his client during Monday's incident when he arrived at the home.

During a press conference, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he responded: 'Pay me.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2416926/George-Zimmermans-lawy
er-quits-police-reveal-iPad-video-footage-altercation-estranged-wife-used-file-charges.html#ixzz2l92NrGA6

Bear in mind, in 2005 Zimmerman's former fiancee filed for a restraining order against Zimmerman, alleging domestic violence. Then in September of this year we had the 911 call from his ex-wife when he smashed her I-pad and supposedly threatened her with a gun. Now we have him being arrested for the most recent action involving his now-"girlfriend" (pregnant, I believe?) and, again, supposedly, a gun. And in the above story, by the way, "In an interview with ABC's Good Morning America that aired last Friday, Shellie Zimmerman said her 29-year-old husband is reckless and feels invincible."

Kinda fits the picture some of us have gotten of him over time, as well as the profile of someone who might see himself as some kind of cop wanna-be "neighborhood watch" guy, and take it into his own hands to follow an innocent person, with a gun, even when told not to. Being acquitted for having killed someone he followed on his own impulse might go a ways toward making someone like that feel "invincible", might make 'em feel pretty powerful, get the urge to rush to the scene of a traffic accident even tho' they contributed nothing, go to a gun factory and get some limelight, feel they have the right to push their girlfriends/ex-wives around, maybe...

It was widely used by the MSM when ever the case was mentioned.

Fox News contributor Bernard Goldberg is lashing out at the New York Times for its coverage of the Trayvon Martin case. His gripe? The paper’s stylebook. Let Goldberg describe his concern:

The national media doesn’t do stories on black-on-black crime. .?.?. They don’t do stories on black-on-white crime. .?.?. The New York Times, in almost a caricature of a liberal media, refers to George Zimmerman as a ‘white Hispanic.’ I guarantee you that if George Zimmerman did something good — if he finished first in his high school graduating class when he was younger — they wouldn’t refer to him as a white Hispanic, he’d just be a Hispanic. .?.?. He’s only a ‘white Hispanic’ because they need the word ‘white’ to further the story line, which is, White, probably racist vigilante shoots an unarmed black kid.

The Chilling 911 Call Where George Zimmerman Tries to Frame His Girlfriend After Attacking Her
http://www.alternet.org/chilling-911-call-where-george-zimmerman-tries
-frame-his-girlfriend-after-attacking-her?paging=off¤t_page=1

Quote:

Just since his release from jail in July, he’s been stopped by law enforcement for speeding at least three times, and police have been called to his home by his estranged wife, who said he threatened her with a gun (she refused to press charges). He also toured the factory that produced the weapon he used to kill Martin. Zimmerman is not now and never was a mild-mannered guy who was at the wrong place at the wrong time and reluctantly killed a young thug who attacked him in self-defense; he is himself a thug with an anger problem looking for trouble.

Quote:

It’s remarkable that he still has guns after not only killing Martin but allegedly pulling one on his wife, as well as posting a bull’s-eye with 17 bullet holes on his wife’s parents’ home.

Criminal charges or no, there's a case for civil committment here, as he's clearly off his nut, as well as a menace and a danger to those around him.

Remember, I called this one from the get-go, I know the type quite well given how many of em I throw out of my office during interviews, and here's one really horrifying thought for you - a sizeable percentage of em are ex-cops.

Think about THAT next time you have a run-in with officer unfriendly.

This is why cries from some here of "CITES!" are so meaningless. I offer my cite, and you STILL dismiss it, out of hand. If you bothered to read fully, it wasn't JUST "FOX NEWS", but you're so programmed to have such a visceral, Pavlovian response to anything merely MENTIONING FOX, it turns your brain off.

And yes, Google is your friend, but only if you CHOOSE to use it.

"White Hispanic " - I was showing absurdity ( of the Left ) by being absurd. Again, prolly a bit over your head.

It's not JUST " FOX NEWS ", dear.

And as for "Mo", I'm sorry, but it's only about race because she WANTS it to be about race. The arrogance and condescension that she thinks anyone needs to be EDUCATED , and she's the one that'll do it, is what is telling.

That term, 'white hispanic' was interjected into the story, SPECIFICALLY to create a racial divide and throttle up tensions in this country.

You are diverting the attention away from the real issue. Zimmerman is a walking talking time bomb and he feels he can do no wrong. That is the issue, not that he's a "white Hispanic," but the fact that he's a loose cannon and he's like the man pumping gas while smoking a cigarette - he's about to blow up! - means nothing to you.

Frem is right, this guy needs to be put away before we read about another massacre at the local mall.

Notice a couple of things: the judge has prohibited him from possessing any firearms, and has placed an ankle bracelet on his person to keep track of his movements (smart judge), additionally he's been placed under "house" arrest. He barricaded himself in the house so cops could not get to him. He knew he was going to get an asskicking for making the cops work to arrest him.

Like I said that's the real issue. Now, let's see you turn those facts around. Come on, I know you can do it.

I think that's gonna change now. Because next time the woman may not survive and he'll claim it was an accident.

Right now I see him as dangerous. He's broke, he can't help but behave like a horse's ass, and now he has a public defender representing him in court. He barricaded himself in the woman's house and didn't want to come out. Listen to his 911 tape and you will hear it for yourself.

Real class this guy.

Since Rap will probably keep it up until the cows come home, I'll let Shiny's response speak for me: "You are diverting the attention away from the real issue. Zimmerman is a walking talking time bomb and he feels he can do no wrong. That is the issue, not that he's a "white Hispanic," but the fact that he's a loose cannon."

Thank you, Shiny. I don't care whether Zimmerman is magenta, scarlet or PURPLE...he has serious problems.

Another note here, now that it's bloody fucking obvious they deliberately tanked the prosecution, and the local PD has been covering for him for some time - cause, yanno, they ADORE tattletale bootlickers*, one wonders if there is not a potential liability issue in that direction as well.

Say he pulled a gun on ya ?

And then refuse to go on camera unless you get paid. Hmmm.

"George Zimmerman girlfriend: I did not set him up."

I had serious misgivings about posting that,
in lieu of AU's current misogynistic mood.

IF it is a set up, it's probably George's own
idea, since he claims to be $2.5M in debt.

I hope nobody off's him; his antics are still entertaining.

I've never been in ANY misogynistic mood. Before, or currently.

But how would setting YOURSELF up as a punk who uses a gun on your pregnant g/f suppose to help him deal w/ 2.5 million in debt ?

Oh, is he taking a clue from Obama, by getting into MORE debt , as a means of dealing w/ the debt you've already incurred ?

I hope he doesn't " entertain " you so much that he ends up pulling a trigger on anyone. Again.

I find him more sad than entertaining, but Rap's (usual) effort to reach for something--anything--to nullify the story isn't working for many. Turns out that, even as the police were knocking on the doors and windows outside of his girlfriend’s Florida home, George Zimmerman was placing a 911 call, ONLY to give “his version of the story.”

When the dispatcher answers Zimmerman’s 911 call, her first question is “Do you need police, fire or medical?” Zimmerman responds by saying that he needs “police.”

Within a matter of seconds, however, the dispatcher learns that the police are already present.
Quote:

Dispatcher: “What’s going on there?”

Zimmerman: “Um, my girlfriend is, for lack of a better word, going crazy on me.”

Dispatcher: “Where is she now?”

Zimmerman: “Outside with the police.”

Dispatcher: “The police is already there now? So why are you calling, what happened?”

Zimmerman: “uh… I just want everyone to know the truth.”

Dispatcher: “O.K. The officers can speak with you on scene. Have you spoken with them already?”

Zimmerman: “No. They’re pretty upset.”

Dispatcher: “The officers are upset?”

Zimmerman: “Yeah. They’re banging on the doors and windows.”

Zimmerman didn’t want to speak to the police who were on scene. He didn’t want to answer questions or allow them entry to the house. It seems that what he really wanted was a recorded 911 call that could be played in court. Listening to the 911 call, it becomes clear that he had no intention of even talking to the police.

During the 911 call Zimmerman claims that everything was fine. He says he was packing up his stuff with the intention of leaving his girlfriend’s home, when all of the sudden she just “changed.” When the dispatcher asks what he means by that, he doesn’t offer any details. He calmly tells her that his girlfriend is the one who smashed the glass table and started throwing his stuff in the yard.

When the dispatcher asks Zimmerman if there were any weapons involved in the incident, he claims that “she (his girlfriend) has weapons” and says “it’s her house.” He also states that he ”no idea” where any of the weapons are. Zimmerman was in possession of a shotgun, two handguns and an AR-15.

Zimmerman also goes into a detailed story that includes his girlfriend being pregnant. He tells the dispatcher, during the 911 call, that because she’s pregnant, he didn’t want to upset her.
Quote:

"She's pregnant with our child and she told me I'm better co-parenting if she raises the child on her own and that's fine. I said 'Is that what you want to do?' and she said 'Yes.' So as soon as I started packing up my stuff to leave she completely changed...She just started smashing stuff, taking stuff that belonged to me...she broke the glass table because she just threw something at it. She got mad, I guess, that I told her that I'd be willing to leave. I guess she thought I was going to argue with her but she's pregnant, I'm not going to put her through that kind of stress." http://www.wtsp.com/news/topstories/article/345265/250/Zimmerman-arres
ted-911-calls-paint-contrasting-pictures
]

She got "crazy" because she asked him to leave and he agreed? Not great thinking on your feet, seems to me...

The story about Scheibe being pregnant was entirely fabricated (we can't know by which of them); she's not pregnant. George Zimmerman is the only one who claimed she was.

Throughout the 911 call the operator continues to tell Zimmerman that he needs to open the door for the police, who are outside of the home waiting to talk to him.

Dispatcher “You’re not going to go speak with them (the police)?”

Zimmerman: “I don’t have anything to say.”

So let’s get this straight. He calls 911. He asks for the police. The police are already there. During the same 911 call he also tells the dispatcher that he doesn’t have anything to say to the police? So why make the call? Simple, he knows whatever he says on the 911 call will be recorded.

According to police statements, Zimmerman lied about several other things during his 911 call.

After he shot Martin, Zimmerman became a right wing cult hero, as NRA activists, gun fanatics and racists jumped to his defense. During his trial, money poured in from the around country. Zimmerman received offers for free weapons from gun shop owners and was even given a factory tour of Kal Tec, the manufacturer that made the gun that killed Trayvon Martin.

The fact that Zimmerman took the money and gifts, but never paid his defense attorneys, highlights how gullible his fan base really is. A quick glimpse at the accounting records of his “legal defense fund” reveals that very little money was ever spent on his defense. The majority of the donations Zimmerman received went toward unspecified “living expenses.”

Scheibe’s own 911 call can be heard at http://www.orlandosentinel.com/videogallery/78238732/911-audio-Zimmerm
an-s-girlfriend-calls-911
. Scheibe tells police that Zimmerman used a shotgun to shatter her table, break her sunglasses and smash other belongings, before pushing her out of her own house and locking the door. “He knows how to play this game,” she says at one point.

Supposedly "George has been dodging Shellie Zimmerman for months in her quest to serve him with papers to end their marriage" ( http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2013/11/george-zimmerman-served-with
-divorce-papers-while-in-jail/#sthash.J8HDVpUa.dpuf
), but when he landed in jail after this most recent altercation, Shellie managed to have him served.

Regarding his ex not pressing charges about his last difficulties
Quote:

Zimmerman’s (then) attorney, Mark O’Mara, acknowledged that Zimmerman broke the iPad into pieces before the police arrived. According to witnesses, Zimmerman also punched his father-in-law in the nose. http://thepoliticalfreakshow.us/post/61063632022/local-police-chief-ag
rees-that-george-zimmerman-is
]

About her not pressing charges at the time,
Quote:

“In hindsight, I should’ve and I really regret that,” Shellie Zimmerman later stated. “But I’m on probation and the officers made it very clear that day if I pressed charges we were all going to go to jail and I would’ve been the only one to stay there.” http://articles.latimes.com/2013/sep/26/nation/la-na-nn-shellie-zimmer
man-20130926

She's on probation for lying about their financial situation during the Trayvon Martin trial. Ironic, isn't it, that she has to think avoid pressing charges against the man she got convicted of lying for, while he doesn't have to worry 'cuz he got found not guilty?

Guy seems to have problems with women, certainly doesn't seem to pick particularly healthy ones to have relationships with.

All of them are out there telling their stories to beat the band, and certainly neither ex-wife nor girlfriend is anyone to be admired. We'll probably never know the true facts, but he's not someone I'd feel good having running around with guns. Thankfully, "His weapons have since been taken from his possession by police." Hope they're in no hurry to give him back his arsenal.

No, but there may well be a sex tape and other misconduct involved, among other things:
Quote:

At least two other women, including Zimmerman’s estranged wife, have accused him of domestic violence in the past.

Scheibe said their relationship was volatile, and her mother told WKMG that Zimmerman sent a still image from a sexually explicit video of himself and Scheibe to Scheibe’s daughter.

“He’s now threatened her in writing and even sent a portion of the video to her baby girl,” Mason said.

Neither the contents of the image or the girl’s age could be confirmed, but it’s illegal under Florida law to transmit sexually explicit material to minors. http://www.datalounge.com/cgi-bin/iowa/ajax.html?t=13397592#page:showT
hread,13397592

If Zimmerman did threaten Scheibe in writing it seems likely that this will be used as evidence, in upcoming hearings. Additionally, if he did send pornographic images to a minor, we can probably expect to see more charges filed against him, in the very near future.

I don't wanna do a gun-rights debate. As the writer below points out,
sanity will eventually prevail (perhaps.)

But as of last week's arrest, GZ had 5 guns & over 100 rounds of ammo.
I guess I can see why he would need so many guns. I mean, a rifle is
different from a pistol and also from an assault weapon. He had to be
ready for any possible gun fight situation, right? Still, his preparations
were quite inadequate for -- say -- a prolonged siege.
I don't think he was ever in the armed services. (sigh)

George Zimmerman Has a Bad Temper and Five Guns - By Francis Wilkinson

"The literally fatal flaw in maximal gun logic, and the reason it will
eventually succumb to more socially responsible policy, is the inability
of the extreme gun-rights movement to draw distinctions.
...

"The National Rifle Association demands that a reckless, violent bully
be afforded the same access to guns and ammunition as, say, a well-
trained, responsible and emotionally balanced target shooter. More,
it demands that every deranged Adam Lanza who is not institutionalized
be given equally unfettered access to guns.

"Earlier this year, the NRA opposed a House bill to fund state programs
to identify and disarm gun owners who've been deemed mentally ill or
have committed a serious crime. In 2009, it opposed a bill empowering
the U.S. attorney general to block weapons sales to anyone whose name
appears on the government’s terrorist watch list. ..."
