Why would Fox News pay $8 million in severance to a guy who was allegedly fired for “financial irregularities” and “multiple, material and significant breaches” of contract? According to Gawker, it was to keep him from talking.

Brian Lewis, the ex “right hand man” to Fox News chief Roger Ailes threatened to spill secrets after he was fired and quickly escorted out of the building last summer. Lewis was allegedly fired for “financial issues and other performance problems.” However, Politico reported that Lewis had been suspected of leaking information to writer Gabriel Sherman, author of the forthcoming unauthorized biography of Ailes:
