Victoria Jackson used to be a featured player on Saturday Night Live, now she’s actively involved in tea party politics. Bill O’Reilly asked her about her political transformation in an interview that bizarrely ended up being mostly about how much she hates communism. She talked about being on SNL during the Reagan years, and somehow went from that to declaring that communists come for the Christians first.

Jackson told O’Reilly she wasn’t political when she worked on SNL, but her Christian faith got some mean comments “’cause they kind of hated God.” She said she was educated by a conservative group a few years ago about how “socialist” Hillary Clinton was being challenged by “communist” Barack Obama in the presidential election. She said the communists would never take over the U.S. by force thanks to the Second Amendment, but they’re already corrupting the country through a “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll morality.”

When O’Reilly asked her about her conservative turn not helping her career, Jackson said, “No one’s gonna have a career when we’re all communists.” She called tea partiers the “greatest people I’ve ever met,” and expressed some concern about what’s going to happen to her soon.

“I’m gonna die soon, because the first thing they do is they kill the Christians or persecute them or jail them.” http://www.mediaite.com/tv/victoria-jackson-goes-off-the-rails-on-orei

Gotta love those Tea Partiers, they've really got a handle on reality. On freedom of religion, too:
Quote:

“I believe in freedom of religions except for religions that kill other the other religions.” Actress, comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member, Victoria Jackson, explains why she does not think the 5-7 million Muslims residing in America should be able to live here or practice religion within the country.

“Tell them to go back to the Middle East,” Jackson proclaimed.

“All of them?” Alan asked.

“Yeah,” she replied. http://radio.foxnews.com/2014/01/23/audio-former-snl-cast-member-victo
ria-jackson-on-muslims-in-the-united-states
/

Jackson believes “all they want is an Islamic state and if they can’t do it peacefully they’ll find other means. When asked if she’d change the First Amendment she said, I’d make an amendment to the First Amendment.”

Hey, RapTroll's got a buddy!
Quote:

Raptor, 7/7/2013: "They're @ war with us, and are spiking the ball , whether we admit it or not.

(Nickerson: "The folks who built that center are not a war with us you moron")

Yeah, they are.

And while they likely didn't clap their hands with joy and toss candy into the air for the happy children on 9/11, they'll gladly take the opportunity to put a trophy mosque @ the site of the biggest Islamic victory vs the West since the fall of Constantinople.

Make no mistake. Islam seeks to bring the entire world under its dominion and bind us all. Some are going about it in a violent, more direct method, while others are content to take things a bit slower. The end result, however, is the same.

Nothing wrong about any of that, save for sending Muslims back to the Middle East. If they're content with peacefully practicing their religion and not trying to instill Sharia Law on the rest of us, that's ok by me. The Amish are freaky religious, imo, but they don't bother anyone. If Muslims can take their cue and just live their own lives, I'm cool with that.

Yeah, Brenda, pretty scary. Obviously as well "educated" by the Tea Party as our own troll, and just as blindly ignorant. FauxNews and the Tea Party have created far too many of these people in recent years, it's truly sad. What's weird is she's so busy hating "communists", "socialists" and "Muslims", yet I get the feeling she doesn't actually know anything about any of them...

Because if she knew them, she'd really like them ?

I guarantee she knows far more than you, Niki.

And FOX News doesn't "make" people. It reports news. Or are you willing to concede that nbc, cbs, abc, msnbc, cnn and virtually all the major news papers in the country "make" people as well ?

Which is it ?

If all those religious people should "just go back to the Middle East", then does that mean we can say buh-bye to all the Christians? It is a Middle Eastern religion after all.

I'm all for keeping sharia law out of the U.S., just as long as we can also keep Judeo-Christian laws out as well.

AuRaptor is willing to "guarantee" the levels of knowledge of people he's never met. Interesting.

This is kind of like when he kept claiming to be a "libertarian," but wouldn't take KPO's challenge to see if he knew anything about his alleged beliefs.

This is also being "taught" in Christian churches. I know someone who said to me that Obama was a socialist and a foreigner striving to rid the country of the Christian faith. When I asked where she heard that, she said her pastor told the church this not long ago.

She cited the usual falsehoods and I told her there's no real way of knowing, but let's look at some things we do know. He's been president now for 5 years and the country still has the second amendment and people still go to church.
She didn't know that folks have claimed that he was going to eliminate the 2nd Amendment. She didn't even know that he and his family go to church.

Doesn't the bible say to "leave to Caesar what is Caesar's" I asked. Yes, but how are we going to stop people from killing innocent babies, was her reply. We have to vote for people who believe as we do. I told her about President Bush. She did not have a clue what I was talking about.

I asked, does Jesus say to force people to believe? or does he say to pray for sinners. Does God force people to come to him? What about those that lived here in this country before any European set foot here, did they have that old time religion? I often have heard people say "Let go and Let God!"

What does that mean exactly?

It's no where anything like that, in the least. And that " challenge " was as pointless as your comments. It was a kin to taking an online test to determine how much you love your parents.

I don't have to put my views to some test. I answer to me alone.

...That... might be a bad analogy around here, since I get the distinct impression that varies a lot.

But I do understand the sentiment. And I liked the pun, that was good.

You kinda left yourself wide open for the followup with that insult though.

Emotional distance and apathy makes you okay with a lot of things, but tends to result in an unfortunate compulsion to snark cynically about everything and everyone.

But yeah, other people have some sad parent stories.

Yeah, Shiny, it's a shame they can't live by "Let go and let God".

From what I find, it comes from Keswick Theology, or the Higher Life Movement. According to Wikipedia,
Quote:

The main idea of the Higher Life movement is that the Christian should move on from his initial conversion experience to also experience a second work of God in his life. This work of God is called “entire sanctification,” “the second blessing,” “the second touch,” “being filled with the Holy Spirit,” and various other terms. Higher Life teachers promoted the idea that Christians who had received this blessing from God could live a more holy, that is less sinful or even a sinless, life. The so-called Keswick approach seeks to provide a mediating and biblically balanced solution to the problem of subnormal Christian experience. The “official” teaching has been that every believer in this life is left with the natural proclivity to sin and will do so without the countervailing influence of the Holy Spirit.

Looks to me like another form of "I'm holier than thou". Dunno how that would break down in everyday life..."let go let God" SOUNDS like, "let go of your negativity and let God tell you how to be" or something, but it doesn't sound like it translates that way. To me, being filled with the Holy Spirit should mean being filled with the embodiment of Christianity...you know, love, acceptance, nonjudgmentalism, turning the other cheek, the stuff Christianity teaches. But somehow from what you wrote and what I see around me, I don't think they see it that way...

And yeah, Victoria Jackson is a real piece of work, and has been for years (maybe ever since the Tea Party got ahold of her, or before that, her religion):
Quote:

Fall 2008: “I think Obama is a communist,” Jackson tells O’Reilly. “And my husband said, ‘Don’t use that word. Say radical or Marxist.’ But, you know, Karl Marx wrote the book, so I don’t see why people are afraid to use the word Communist. Because I’ve done a lot of research. And I’ve read the book 1984 by George Orwell, twice. And I was walking through the airport and every magazine had Obama’s picture on it. Every one. And I turned on the TV and every channel had him on it. It’s like Castro in Cuba or the guy in China or Saddam Hussein. There are pictures everywhere!”

After the 2008 election when Obama won: “I can’t stop crying. America died” and “Thanks a lot Christians for not showing up. You disgust me.”

March 1, 2010: Jackson introduces a song she wrote, “There’s a Communist Living in the White House.” Sample lyrics: “Why aren’t people shocked or something? Why aren’t people up in arms? Does anyone read history or see red flags or hear alarms? The streets are filled with deaf and dumb as I squeak like a mouse, ‘There’s a Communist living in the White House!’”

March 11, 2011: “A government spying on its citizens is a good thing, if it’s for national security. If the spying is to silence the opposition, it is communism."

March 22, 2011: When Glee characters Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) kiss for the first time, Jackson is not happy at all. In a blog post, she calls it “sickening.” She then appears on Showbiz Tonight, where she says that being called “homophobic” is “a cute little buzzword of the liberal agenda.”

December 2011: Jackson says that the U.S. is being overtaken by radical Muslims determined to bring the nation under sharia law. She also claims to have participated in a high-level security meeting in our nation’s capital.

"I just went to a briefing in Washington, D.C., across the street from the Capitol, at the Longworth building at 8:30 a.m. two days ago and it changed my life. For six hours, I saw pictures and names and dates and facts and Islamic law books and Qurans, Surahs for six hours and they proved to me ... that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated our highest positions in government and this is serious.” http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/11/07/the-road-to-victoria-
jackson-s-election-meltdown-on-twitter.html

Lady seems to have a thing about Communism and Communists...I guess the new stuff shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone. And I'm sure the Tea Party will be thrilled that now she's contemplating running for office:
Quote:

Victoria Jackson Considering Run For Local Office

Should I run for “Alderman” in my town? I wanna make a difference. I want to help educate my fellow Americans on Common Core, Agenda 21, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the urgency of getting involved in the political process, putting integrity back into office and halting the encroaching communism. I just hate the campaigning part…the begging for money, the signs, the hand-shaking, etc. Got any thoughts? http://wonkette.com/539224/victoria-jackson-considering-run-for-local-

There once was a time when Christians, in their belief system prior to Bush 2, would use the power of prayer to affect change. Somehow, in their Christian wisdom, it seems that God has changed his mind and wants his flock to push forward and claim "his" rightful place in the throne of THIS world.

Clearly, and it is stated so in the Good Book, God was talking about the Kingdom of Heaven, a spiritual plane unknown to man as he exists in THIS world. The secular throne is far beneath that of the spiritual one, according to scripture. The Tea Party people are co-mingling their political beliefs with those in the bible to their benefit and inheritance.

They too will be judged in the final analysis, according to scripture.

Who knows, they may bring about the very Anti-Christ that their beliefs warn about. Ironic, isn't it!

The TEA party isn't about religion or Christianity in the least. It's about TAXES, and the wasteful spending of govt. If the lot of bible thumping types fall in line w/ the TEA party points of view, then what of it ? That's just an example of the tone deaf GOP party, and how it's chosen to ignore the voices of the conservative base. The mistake YOU make is equating those who support sound fiscal govt as being some sort of religious cabal.

Just because there's a party that many may cling to , doesn't mean that's what the party stands for.

"Humor" has obviously changed, I think, with time, or it's how old I've gotten. I don't watch stand-up comedians because for years now, most of their humor doesn't seem funny, just ugly, to me. The same with "sitcoms"; the "humor" just seems mean, and I can't watch "Funniest Home Videos" or whatever it's called, what they deem "funny" just makes me cringe half the time...

Well, you had to know it was coming:
Quote:

THOMPSON STATION, Tenn. (AP) — Former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Victoria Jackson has filed to run as an independent candidate for a seat on a county commission outside Nashville, Tenn.

Jackson, who calls herself a tea party conservative, moved to Thompson Station in Williamson County last year. She told The Tennessean ( http://tnne.ws/1n8zPjr) she filed as an independent because she's "very disappointed with the Republican Party."

As long as Jackson meets the candidate qualifying requirements by the Feb. 20 deadline, her name will appear on the election ballot Aug. 7.

She would run against the Republican nominee, who will be chosen May 6.

The newspaper reports Jackson has made appearances at multiple political events in Middle Tennessee since making her home there. http://tv.yahoo.com/news/victoria-jackson-files-county-seat-tenn-14474
