“I think one of the most unfortunate things my party did the last three years was not offer an alternative to health care…I wish we had an alternative. For the next six months, we’re going to go into an election, knowing that we’re not going to do anything to address health care. Because we’ve gone so far in the last few years saying No, that we don’t have an alternative to say Yes to. And I think that the American public, when they go to vote, are going to look at credibility before they look at substance.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2014/04/17/nobody-bel

Niki, you confuse truth with politics.

There was an alternative to O-Care. Lots of other ways we could have gone.

But your deceptive topic omits this gem...

Quote:

laments that the GOP has not coalesced behind a comprehensive alternative

There are many plans. Not just one. And one need not be 'comprehensive' to match everything that O-Care does, because that clearly doesn't get the job done as Obama himself has said he wanted, in getting EVERYONE covered.( But we all know, what Barry says and what Barry DOES aren't always the same thing )

To be an exact alternative to O-care, a bill would have to be equally intrusive, gigantic, bureaucratic and inefficient. On that level, you're right. There IS no plan from the GOP. Thankfully.

Just more play on words from the Left.

' There isn't an exact equal to the ACA from the GOP, so there isn't any thing or any ideas. '

Deceptive and dishonest. To the core, Niki.

The Dems know Barrycare is a flop, talking about a GOP alternative is a lame attempt to change the subject. The GOP doesn't need an alternative, just talk about repealing it.

Republicans have voted a half dozen times to repeal Obamacare. And failed. Commonsense suggests a different strategy might quickly succeed, such as an alternative healthcare law to Obamacare. Republicans had years to draft that alternative. I certainly hope somebody did the work. Now is the time to introduce it to the nation.

Republicans did draft an alternative to Obamacare, but it wasn't voted on. That was a missed opportunity. Who is this Rep. Dennis Ross? http://dennisross.house.gov/

But it wasn't the facts.

Herman Cain: Republicans Do Have Alternatives to Obamacare

Tuesday, 03 Dec 2013 01:37 PM

By Wanda Carruthers

The "second-biggest lie" about Obamacare is that Republicans do not have alternatives to the healthcare law, businessman and 2012 presidential candidate Herman Cain said Tuesday.

"This administration has systematically tried to silence, not only the media, particularly the mainstream media. But, you don't hear about these proposals.

"So, that is the second-biggest lie, that the Republicans don't have proposals. Yes, they do," Cain told Fox News' "America's Newsroom."

The biggest "lie" was when Obama told Americans they could keep their insurance plans if they liked them.

Cain explained that Republican alternatives date to 2009. Two, in particular, have extensive support in Congress, he said.

"There is one that's been introduced, called * HR2300 , by Rep. Tom Price, out of Georgia. You don't hear a lot about that. It has 40 cosponsors. And, the Republican Study Committee is working on another version that has over 100 cosponsors," Cain said.

If President Barack Obama is serious about working on solutions with Republicans regarding healthcare issues, Cain suggested he start over and join them to draft a plan more acceptable to Americans.

"If the president was serious about wanting to work with Republicans, stop digging. Start over, and come up with one the American people can embrace," he said.

The congressman wasn't speaking in facts, he was speaking POLITICS.

Do NOT confuse the two.
