More hate because that's what you do. Show up, drop another hate bomb and run. Pictures and one liners. Hate and ignorance follows you around these threads like a plague because you appear to be capable of little else.

"We learned that by hurling insults and inciting discord in online comment sections, so-called Internet trolls (who are frequently anonymous) have a polarizing effect on audiences, leading to politicization, rather than deeper understanding of scientific topics."

Sound more than a bit like you does it not?

I'm glad you're being 100% consistent. I have to believe you said EXACTLY the same thing about Michael Moore's hatched job on W, right ?

I had it confirmed a couple weeks ago that Bush was really smarter than people gave him credit for and his everyman act was an act. As I long suspected. You don't get anywhere in politics by riding coattails.

Not a great artist though, I have to say.

AlGore is a bona fide moron, so I'd not simply gloss over the fact that rich boys can't be coat tailed into high places.

But yeah, W isn't as dumb as they come. He is stubborn, sometimes for no real reason, but not the imbecile the Left painted him out to be.

Michael Moore is one-sided. He attacks those on the right with things both sides are incapable of fixing without major compromises by both sides. I realize how easy it is to make things look like you want, and to slander others with it by being very selective about what goes into your interview or movie. I have never watched anything he has done because he is very transparent. A Rachel Madow type who only preaches things that make him look like a saint at the expense of others. It's very easy for them to be self-righteous. It's how he makes his living.

I usually do not trust the judgments of those who have not even mastered the skill of proper grooming. The mans a mess.

I have a very conservative friend who I talked about Bush with. Let's just say my friend was very successful and one of his friends (who is sole owner of a half billion dollar industry) hires not just Bush but others like Colin Powell to speak at his synagogue. He invites our mutual friend to attend these speaches. My friend would tell me later how impressed he was with how smart Bush was.

He would just smile when I would suggest Bush came off as confused or slow to respond not because he did not know the answer, but because he did not want to give the answer. He was always searching for how to say it without quite being honest.

Sounds to me as if W had a problem with lying to folks. Some people LIKE being lied to. Especially by one who lies to them proudly, and with conviction. Like Obama, or Bill Clinton. They are, as Bob Kerry once said of Bill, are both " unusually good " liars. They lie so well, they actually believe it themselves.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

None of them are going to be inventing the cure for cancer any time soon, and they tend to depend on speech writers and advisers to groom them into a semblance of being someone with ideas that others want to follow.

But their speech writers and advisers can't hold their hand ALL the time, so in order to get where they are they do all have to show some degree of social intelligence. They have to know how to work a crowd.

Passing on unconfirmed, suspect & convenient information as if it's 100% true technically isn't lying in the strictest sense.

If you present unsubstantiated information as facts you are lying. You statement reminds of Clintons press conference where it tried to spin the truth when suggesting he did not have sexual relations with that women. He was basing his statement on the premise that oral sex in not the same as a relationship.

Your sarcasm is understood and I get what you are saying. The truth is in the eyes and ears of the beholder. For some though lies roll much smother off the tongue that for others. For them the truth lies in what is reality as apposed to what they say. For instance, they might quote a particular policy they are in favor of that the people want knowing full well it is never going to happen. It is that it is never going to happen that they do not express publicly.

Ronald Reagan repeatedly ignored his speech writers wishes to NOT use the ' Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall! ' line ,at the Brandenburg Gate. It's now his signature phrase, and helped define his greatness.

Clearly, neither W or AlGore hold a candle to Ronaldus Magnus.

In 1980 I was one of those Long Island Liberals who had never voted for a Republican, and I had no intention of voting for Reagan. But his campaign impressed me. The man impressed me, especially in the debates. So I became one of those Reagan Democrats and voted for him. And yes I still pine for Fawn Hall to this day.... what a woman!

That's too weird. I can't believe it never came up before. I grew up in Valley Stream. Lived in the 'Green Acres' section until 1971. Hung out at the Green Acres Mall, the Green Acres Bowling Alley, and the Sunrise Drive-In. Graduated from Valley Stream South High School, and went off to University of Maryland. In 1974 I came back to NY, attended and graduated from Hofstra University in Hempstead. What a small world!

I saw Gremlins for the first time at Green Acres, and I lived 10 minutes walk from Hofstra, where I filmed a movie (in part), and my friend graduated from there. I loved the dorm towers- we could film off the top there no problem. And I used to work at Blimpies! Did I ever deliver to you? Or was 1981 too late for that? Eddie Murphy used to come in there after SNL to eat. Ever hang at McHebes? That was down the block from me!
I went to NCC.
Small world is right!

I didn't live on campus, I commuted every day from a house I was sharing with friends in Rockville Center. I'd park in the commuter lot and walk across the long glass sky bridge to campus.

Figures. I left there a year earlier. BUT, I did finally get to meet him a few years ago when he turned 80. $75 bucks for his signature on a great Kirk photo. They had that line moving at warp speed. I broke the "rules" ... I shook his hand, got a nod and a thank you.
