By my quick count - 31 separate rocket : mortar attacks @ Israel.

Make that 32 . Just got another one.

*ETA - Hard to keep count, but I think it's up to 38 today. 6 (?) more now.

I'm guessing this is no where the height of the rocket attacks. Just a random day in the middle of the week, the first whole day I had this app, and kept tally myself. I wonder if Fridays will be any worse, as Muslims love to pop off on Fridays ( day of rage! ) for some odd reason.

MEANWHILE, IN GAZA

U.N. says 'enough is enough' after another Gaza school attack

Quote:

(Reuters) - After another deadly attack on a U.N. school in Gaza sheltering Palestinians from fighting between Israel and Hamas militants, the United Nations declared "enough is enough" on Wednesday and asked - when civilians are warned to leave, where do they go?

With 1.8 million people living in a Mediterranean enclave he described as the size of Detroit and Philadelphia, a disheartened U.N. Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson said there was nowhere for people to flee the conflict that has killed some 1,200 Palestinians.

"This is a moment where you really have to say 'enough is enough' and you have to search for the right words to convince those who have the power to stop this," Eliasson told reporters at the United Nations. Israel says it regularly warns residents by phone calls, text messages, leaflets and dud missiles launched on their roofs to warn them in advance of attacks. But Eliasson asked: "Where do they go? There's very few places to go in Gaza."

At least 16 people were killed and some 100 wounded when an Israeli artillery struck a U.N. school at dawn on Wednesday in Gaza's biggest refugee camp, Eliasson said. The United Nations is protecting more than 200,000 people at its facilities.

Speaking in Costa Rica earlier on Wednesday, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the attack as outrageous and unjustifiable. "It demands accountability and justice," he said. "Nothing is more shameful than attacking sleeping children."

He said the precise location of the school had been communicated to Israeli military authorities 17 times, most recently on Tuesday night just hours before the attack.

The ratio isn't the point. It could be 10,000,000: 1, and Hamas would still be in the wrong. As they are now.

Hamas could stop this at any moment it wants.

STOP FIRING ROCKETS AT ISRAEL - NOW!!!!!!

( and stop building tunnels so you can kill and rape Israeli citizens. Gorram animals ! )

More of excellent ideas - let's use the UN facilities to have Hamasians launch their military weapons at Israeli civilian targets and tell children to stay here and surround the tanks and missile batteries. Then when Israel calls to announce they will retaliate by targeting the locations of the launches, and we keep the kiddies in place, we can claim the jews are being unreasonable. Brilliant! Genius. No libtard will ever see through the flimsy facade as long as they keep their blinders on.

Some truth to that too. The Israelis have got to wrap this up very quickly. The optics for them are worsening by the minute. Honestly I don't know what is taking so long, considering they have the weapons and manpower. Hell, the Russians fought the Nazis in Berlin building by building, and within a few weeks they were knocking on Hitler's bunker just as he put his pistol to his head.

The United States has the world’s highest corporate income tax rate at up to 35 percent. Japan recently lowered its corporate tax rate to 30 percent, and some US companies are moving operations to countries with lower rates such as Ireland, where the corporate tax rate is 12.5 percent. After various tax deductions and credits, the US collected $205 billion in corporate income tax in 2009 from 5.8 million corporations, down from $228 billion the year before.

Yeah, it's 35% alright.

But Chrissy is talking about EFFECTIVE tax rate, huh? I find that funny, because when it's corporations as the topic, he's quick to point out all those possible deductions and loop holes.

But when we're talking personal income, and how LOW our taxes are now, compared to what they use to be under Carter, before Reagan cut those rates, why... we need to go back paying our " fair share '!

Actually they DO smuggle in food and medicine. What they CAN'T smuggle in ... or otherwise obtain... is construction material for homes and businesses. Fuel in quantities large enough to sustain an economy. Electricity. Water. Sewage treatment.

And, why izzit that the Palestinians have to "smuggle in" food and medicine in the first place? Is it possibly because the Alliance... er, the USA... er, Israel... is maintaining blockade? Because Gazans have been successively squeezed into a smaller and smaller space? Because their homes and orchards and groves and other sources of livelihood have been deliberately destroyed? Because they're living in conditions similar to the Warsaw ghetto? Because they're really living in the world's largest open-air prison?

Nah.....

Ummmm, riiiight.
News reports of the past day, when the UN had Hamas booby-trap the UN building just before Israeli troops investigated it, so the UN could kill another dastardly Jew, then the Jews died from the booby traps. I am sure Siggy will be able to avoid seeing any of the numerous news reports of it. IIRC 3 Israelis were killed in that Hamas attack inside the UN building - oh, wait - are we supposed to assume it was the UN directly boobytrapping the building without the help of their Hamas buddies? OK, I supposed that is possible.

3 times , at least, Hamas stored weapons in UN schools, apparently w/ out knowledge of the UN. Seems the UN also doesn't believe anything they can't see themselves, even when it's taking place in their own damn schools!

But Israel controlled and allowed building materials to go into Gaza. And Hamas then used those items to build tunnels, and not 'humanitarian' projects.

I think you have it backwards.

Vast Israeli support for Gaza war eclipses and silences dissenting voices

JERUSALEM – Despite Israeli casualties and world criticism, a near-consensus in Israel supports the government's conduct of the Gaza war, views Hamas as the aggressor and considers outsiders' moralizing as hypocritical, ignorant or both. And in an echo-chamber fed by ubiquitous updates on Hamas rocket and tunnel attacks, the minority of local voices that do agonize over Gazans' suffering are being silenced in a way rarely seen in a country long proud of its spirited, democratic debate.

A series of recent opinion polls have shown robust support for the war, reflecting years of frustration over rocket fire from Gaza and a new fear of Hamas' network of tunnels that stretch well into Israel and imperil communities along the border. Opposing views, coming primarily from leftist activists and intellectuals, have been met with threats, insults and charges of treason both in social media and face-to-face.

"We are faced with the false, anti-democratic equation that argues that aggression, racism and lack of empathy means love of the homeland," wrote Israeli author Etgar Keret in the Yediot Ahronot newspaper. Opinions that do not encourage "the use of power," he added, are derided as "nothing less than an attempt to destroy and annihilate Israel as we know it."
