It doesn't matter if it is important to us, what matters is it's important to them. It has always been the contention of the Palestinians that the Jews stole their land.

America loves a winner!

Larry Miller explains it all -

A brief overview of the situation is always valuable, so as a service to all Americans who still don’t get it, I now offer you the story of the Middle East in just a few paragraphs, which is all you really need.’
Here we go:

The Palestinians want their own country. There’s just one thing about that: There are no Palestinians. It’s a made up word. Israel was called Palestine for two thousand years. Like ‘Wiccan,’ ‘Palestinian’ sounds ancient but is really a modern invention. Before the Israelis won the land in the 1967 war, Gaza was Owned by Egypt , the West Bank was owned by Jordan , and there were no ‘Palestinians.’
As soon as the Jews took over and started growing oranges as big as basketballs, what do you know, say hello to the ‘Palestinians,’ weeping for their deep bond with their lost ‘land’ and ‘nation.’

So for the sake of honesty, let’s not use the word ‘Palestinian’ any more to describe these delightful folks, who dance for joy at our deaths until someone points out they’re being taped. Instead, let’s call them what they are: ‘Other Arabs Who Can’t Accomplish Anything In Life And Would Rather Wrap Themselves In The Seductive Melodrama Of Eternal Struggle And Death.’ I know that’s a bit unwieldy to expect to see on CNN. How about this, then: ‘Adjacent Jew-Haters.’ Okay, so the Adjacent Jew-Haters want their own country. Oops, just one more thing: No, they don’t. They could’ve had their own country. Anytime in the last thirty years, especially several years ago at Camp David. But If you have your own country, you have to have traffic lights and garbage trucks. And Chambers of Commerce, and, worse, you actually have to figure out some way to make a living.

That’s no fun. No, they want what all the other Jew-Haters in the region want: Israel. They also want a big pile of dead Jews, of course that’s where the Real fun is — but mostly they want Israel.

Why? For one thing, trying to destroy Israel – or ‘The Zionist Entity’ as their Textbooks call it — for the last fifty years has allowed the rulers of Arab Countries to divert the attention of their own people away from the fact that they’re the blue-ribbon most illiterate, poorest, and tribally backward on God’s Earth, and if you’ve ever been around God’s Earth, you know that’s really saying something.

It makes me roll my eyes every time one of our pundits waxes poetic about the great history and culture of the Muslim Mid east. Unless I’m missing something, the Arabs haven’t given anything to the world since Algebra, and, by the way, thanks a hell of a lot for that one.

Chew this around and spit it out: Five hundred million Arabs; five Million Jews.
Think of all the Arab countries as a football field, and Israel as a pack of matches sitting in the middle of it. And now these same folks swear that if Israel gives them half of that pack of matches, everyone will be pals.
Really? Wow, what neat news.

Hey, but what about the string of wars to obliterate the tiny country and the constant din of rabid blood oaths to drive very Jew into the sea? Oh, that? We were just kidding.

My friend, Kevin Rooney, made a gorgeous point the other day: Just reverse the Numbers. Imagine five hundred million Jews and five million Arabs. I was stunned at the simple brilliance of it. Can anyone picture the Jews strapping belts of razor blades and dynamite to themselves? Of course not.

Or marshalling every fibre and force at their disposal for generations to drive a tiny Arab State into the sea? Nonsense.

Or dancing for joy at the murder of Innocents? Impossible.
Or spreading and believing horrible lies about the Arabs baking their bread with the blood of children? Disgusting.

No, as you know, left to themselves in a world of peace, the worst Jews would ever do to people is debate them to death.

However, in any big-picture strategy, there’s always a danger of losing moral weight. We’ve already lost some. After September 11th our president told us and the world he was going to root out all terrorists and the countries that supported them. Beautiful. Then the Israelis, after months and months of having the equivalent of an Oklahoma City every week (and then every day) start to do the same thing we did, and we tell them to show restraint.

I went to school with Larry in Valley Stream, N.Y. A friendly, funny and smart guy even back then. I never saw him again until he appeared in the movie 'Pretty Woman'. I went to see him at Carefree Comedy Club in Palm Beach soon after his HBO special in the 90's. I went up to him after the show not knowing if he'd remember me. He did, and he graciously spent time with us at the bar talking about his life and rising career.

The good news for today is that, ever since the start of the cease fire, no rockets have been fired into Israel. Which also means no shelling into Gaza.

See how that works ?

Now,I'd be dollars to doughnuts that not one shell or air strike from Israel will occur UNLESS Hamas starts firing rockets.

Hamas had built ( at least ) 32 tunnels INTO Israel, and was on the verge of conducting an all out assault on Israeli citizens.

This fact should... I say SHOULD stuff a sock in the whole ' poor Palestinians ' mantra, but we all know it won't. These tunnels weren't for sheltering children or old people from the mean Jews and their precision air strikes. They were built for one thing only - to attack civilians in Israel.

Such tunnels have been under construction for years. Great effort and $ went into the building of these tunnels, and we can only guess that there are many more like them which link areas underground in Gaza.

So far, still no more missile alerts today.

Just wanted to add something I heard on the news today. Per WSB radio , right before the cease fire, Israel had reported 1 ( ONE ) missile strike this morning.

Now that is rather curious. By my count, there was 1 attack by Hamas at 7:14 AM , local Israel time.

Then another @ 7:48.

And 3 more at 7:50.

Another @ 7:51

Two more @ 7:53

One at 7:57

And finally, 4 more at 7:58.

So, there were 13 in the last 45 minutes before the cease fire, and 12 of them coming in the time span of 10 minutes.

But our news reports here in the U.S. that there was only 1 missile strike before the cease fire.

Huh.

Because it's not a movie. The good guys don't win in 2 hours.

It's very difficult for an agent to penetrate a terrorist organization, and even if one did, then what? How many is he going to be able to kill? Also, many of the Hamas leaders are living outside the region in places like Qatar, and they have security protection all the time.

Couple years ago the Mossad sent a team to a third country to knock off an Arab guy. There was an international (and American) outcry because they gave their agents American cover identities. They supposedly borrowed, with permission, the American passports of Jewish Americans living in Israel.

At least that's how I remember the big picture of the story, I may be fuzzy on the details.

But that ought to be a standard espionage technique-- using false identities and passports. They wouldn't have gotten very far with passports from Israel.

I dug the story out, from Wikipedia . It was 2010, and most of the passports were Irish. If I remember correctly, there were American identities or passports involved as well.

from Wikipedia:
Quote:

The killing of Zaiad Muchasi, Fatah representative to Cyprus, by an explosion in his Athens hotel room in 1973.[16]
Ireland

The assassination of Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh - a senior Hamas military leader - in Dubai, 2010, was suspected to be the work of Mossad, and there were eight Irish passports (six of which were used) fraudulently obtained by the Israeli embassy in Dublin, Ireland for use by apparent Mossad agents in the operation. The Irish government was angered over the use of Irish passports, summoned the Israeli ambassador and expelled the Israeli diplomat deemed responsible from Dublin, following an investigation. One of the passports was registered to a residence on Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, on the same road as the Israeli embassy. The house was empty when later searched, but there was suspicion it had been used as a Mossad safe house in the past.[27][28] Mossad is reported to have a working relationship with Ireland's national intelligence agency, the military Directorate of Intelligence (G2),[29] and has previously tipped the Irish authorities off about arms shipments from the Middle East to Ireland for use by dissident republican militants, resulting in their interception and arrests.[30] Mossad is also believed to cooperate with the British government in combating IRA terrorism, including involvement in Operation Flavius, 1988.[31]

I read another article, I think I linked it here somehwere, which has a much better narrative of what's going on. Apparently, the school (at the time, there was only one) where they found the rockets was shuttered, and not actively being used for sheltering refugees. AFTER the school which was housing refugees was shelled, the administrator (who I got the impression worked directly for the UN) went to inspect the other schools and found the rockets. He was very upset, and reported them right away.

Yes, I am sure that he was shocked, shocked I say that gambling was going on in this establishment. And of course, none of the UN workers in the UN schools were providing UN support or UN shelter or shield to the Islamofascist terrorists. Riiiight.

Tokyo is the 50th most dense city in the world with about 4,750 /sqkm covering about 7,000 sqKm.
NYC is 114th with about 2,050 covering 8,700sqKm.
Los Angeles is around 2,750 covering about 4,320sqKm.

Tel Aviv and Jerusalem both have population densities greater than Gaza - you may have heard of Hamasians bombing Tel Aviv(in Israel), with density around 5,050/sqKm?

London's density seems around 5,100.

The whining of the Hamasians regarding density seems a bit lame.

According to "G", Israel has fired more rockets into Gaza than vice versa.

Well, they were able to keep the rockets from firing for almost 2 days. Though my guess is that HAMAS only used that time to restock supplies , w/ zero intention of reaching any sort of a peace or lasting truce.

Their only aim is to win the PR war, not the actual war.

More images of dead Palestinians is the goal here. World sympathy towards them and animosity towards Israel. Those violent protests in Europe over this aren't because Hamas started firing rockets first, it's because Israel is too good at defending herself. That makes them look like the aggressor. The big bad. A complete inversion of reality.

Then why does Israel insist in playing their game? Being the bad guy to their victim? Do they really feel THAT threatened?

Honestly, I don't think Hamas - or any of the so-called terrorist organizations* - are looking to wipe Israel off the map. People In Gaza would settle for ending the blockade. They've been beaten, they're on the ground, they can't possibly inflict as much damage on Israel as Israel can on them, and everybody knows it- Hamas knows it, the Palestinians know it, Israel knows it, and the whole world knows it. That's why the world sees Israel as the "bad guy"- the total imbalance of power.

The Israeli government right now is that proverbial bully on the playground, and they INSIST on playing that role for reasons of their own. And it's either complete paranoia, or something much more cynical.

*The IDF is a terrorist organization that commits war crimes. They're no better than the people they claim to be fighting.

I have to say. Europe has never been known to be friendly with the Jewish population. Especially with the European Jewish community.

Because you can't just sit on your hands when those who have vowed to annihilate you launch 50 rockets at your civilians , and dig million $ attack tunnels under your towns and villages... c'mon. Be real here.

Bull- shit. Hamas absolutely wants to destroy Israel. IT'S IN THEIR CHARTER! Maybe not all Palestinians feel like that, and would be content w/ living peacefully and enjoying free trade. Problem is, they voted Hamas in, and that's who they're following now.

And yes, they're beaten, and everyone knows it, save for Hamas. They broke the cease fire, and just today have sent 50 rockets towards Israel.

Screw the imbalance of power. Good for Israel that there IS such an imbalance! Otherwise, things would be FAR worse.

Total and utter BS. They did not start this.

I can't disagree stronger. If anything, the IDF deserve medals for their restraint and valour in dealing w/ the Hamas sub humans.

Methinks logic is not their strong suit.
