The news is strangely silent. Now that the EU was prodded into stronger sanctions, is MH17's time onstage over?

I thought this was provocative, but -of course- not substantiated. From Dutch journalist ....

MH17 Inquiry Results to Be Published Early September

The preliminary results of an inquiry into the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 will be published during the first week of September, Agence France Presse reported Thursday.

The passenger jet is believed to have been shot down over war-torn eastern Ukraine on July 17, claiming the lives of all 298 passengers and crew members on board.

Ongoing fighting between pro-Russian rebels and Ukrainian government forces prevented investigators from reaching the crash site, but Dutch, Australian and Malaysian forensic experts managed to make it to the area to look for human remains and personal belongings.

The investigators have left Ukraine and will resume their probe in the Netherlands, Wim van der Weegen, spokesman for the Dutch Safety Board, or OVV, told AFP, noting: "We have sufficient information to compile a preliminary report."

The OVV said earlier in a statement that it would only investigate the cause of the crash, with no intention of finding a party to blame for the incident.

The preliminary report will contain information from various sources, including black boxes, transcripts of interactions between the crew and flight dispatchers and satellite imagery.

Russia and the West have traded accusations in recent weeks about who is to blame for the crash. While western politicians have pointed fingers at pro-Russian insurgents, President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian leadership is culpable, as it prolonged the conflict that was the ultimate cause of the crash.

The preparation of the final report will take several months.

It's not personal. It's just war.

I know what "G" and THUGR would say...

WHAT??? You linked RT???

(Yes, I know, it was the Moscow Times, but that wouldn't be the first time they objected to a non-existent citation.)

Thanks for the info. It'll be interesting to see whether the findings make it into the western MSM.

Speaking for myself, I object to Kremlin controlled media.
Curiously, the only media that seems interested right now in the results of the investigation is the "Kremlin controlled" one!

So do you and Kiki get now why there's not been a constant stream of NEWS about MH17? That it isn't some Western conspiracy to hide the truth, but that there just isn't anything to report on at this time?
BTW- There was nothing to report before, either, except the event itself. But that didn't stop the speculation and finger-pointing. You may recall that I was the one who kept telling people that we need to wait for the facts to come out.

You have a pretty wobbly definition of "news". Possibly somewhere in that understanding there might be a loose relationship to facts, but I'm not sure.

Moscow Times isn't state-owned. There's a limit to what they can post (obviously, it's in Russia) but they're independent.

Not all Russian media is state-owned, but state-owned media does dominate, especially TV news.

It's not personal. It's just war.

Q:Who owns the newspaper?
A: The Moscow Times is the founding publication of Sanoma Independent Media (SIM) Publishing House, which was established as Independent Media in March 1992 by a group of Dutch investors headed by Derk Sauer. SIM is now the largest player in the Russian media market, with a portfolio that includes more than 50 publications and projects with a cumulative readership about 12 million and about 25 percent share of the glossy advertising market.

So....
Every time I hear some gibberish about how Russia is doing such a great job helping to shoot down planes, or helping to keep those dastardly Ukrainians from allowing investigators to the "crash" site (euphemism for debris field of missile-blown mid-air explosion), it is always some Dutch being quoted.

What is the deal? Dutch are aggressively anti-freedom, or just hate Ukraine?

Holland (where "the Dutch" live) is one of the largest cantons of the Nederlands. As you may recall, that is where many of the victims came from. It seems to me that "the Dutch" in general have the LEAST interest in protecting whoever is was that shot the plane down.

Yeah, geography is not a problem for me.
I don't see geography as being a big factor in this topic.
So are you suggesting that the Dutch are just being diplomatic, placating Putin?

Or - taking their vested interest in blaming Russia into account - coming up with spin that is far less fantastic than the crap you swallow every day.

Shouldn't we convict some cops in Ferguson before bringing up that plane thing again?
