ANARKO

This comes from the American Communist Party...

We aren't running a candidate for president this year simply because John Kerry embodies much of what we believe and wish to accomplish for this country. Also, the reality is that if Bush is going to be defeated this year, it will be by Kerry, and it is crucial that we beat Bush. Bush is a ruling class candidate and there are significant differences between him and Kerry-for example, You will not hear John Kerry invoke the name of God which we find repulsive. Countries in the Middle-East are terrified of Bush and his so-called war on terrorism. We trust Kerry will not pursue war there and exit Iraq and Afghanistan as quickly as possible. Cuba is worried that if Bush is re-elected, Bush will invade Cuba. For example, Kerry has pledged to sign a bill legalizing card-check union elections, which would result in the organization of many million more workers into the labor movement. While we disagree with some of Kerry's positions, we aren't indifferent to the differences between the Republican and Democratic positions and policies. Republicans completely disagree with our agenda and the Democrates mostly agree. Also it may interest you to know that Kerry has been endorsed by virtually all of the communist world to include Cuba, China and Vietnam. We aren't running national candidates this year for several reasons:
1. Our focus on the defeat (or re-defeat) of Bush. This is the
critical task facing our country.
2. Since we are a small party, we don't want to dissipate our
efforts.
3. Over the past decades, many state legislatures have made it more
difficult to get candidates on the ballot-by requiring huge numbers of voter's signatures, by requiring that anyone who signs a petition to place a "minor" party candidate on the ballot is thereby ineligible to vote in a major party primary, or requiring signatures from all counties in a state. The requirements vary from state to state, but these requirements constitute a significant barrier to ballot access, and consume huge resources just to get on the ballot in most states.

Thanks for your interest, and I hope this response clarifies our position.

Peace and Socialism,

Marc Brodine

THIS IS REASON ENOUGH TO VOTE AGAINST KERRY!

KIRIKOLI

A reason to vote against Kerry is because one group of people has choosen to twist things to justify their endorsement of him?

Besides, supporting Kerry is hardly a *communist* action. Communism, with regards to its negative connotations which would give us a reason to not want their wishes fulfilled, is just the implementation of socialism through often violent revolution. Voting in an election is hardly violent or a revolution. Nor does it do a whole lot against capitalism. Unless you believe that Kerry is bad for business and that Bush will be better for the rich getting richer and poor getting poorer extreme of capitalism. But that really doesn't have anything to do with communism, does it?

Sorry, but I prefer to make up my own mind based on actual issues rather than what random party endorses and opposes which candidates.

I'm a Libertarian capitalist in all of my core political beliefs, which is about as close you can come to the true opposite of socialism. But under the current circumstances, Kerry could be a card carrying member of the communist party and he'd still get my vote. Not because I like him or his ideology. Fact is, I think he'll be a crummy president when it comes to the economy and domestic policy.

I'll vote for him because we have a rigged, two-party system which effectively limits our choice to one of two candidates. And because Bush has wiped his ass with the American flag and I'll never forgive him for it.

Bush passed up a golden opportunity to truly make the world a safer place. After 9/11 the world was ripe for a real, united stand against terrorism and nuclear proliferation. Nation after nation expressed its eagerness to help us get the terrorists responsible. We could have rallied their support into something real.

Instead, he's alienated most of the globe and only encouraged more terrorism against the US. He's drug us along on a religious vendetta and I'll be damned if I let my sons die for that sunuvabitch's 'faith'.

It's weird how we've twisted the meanings of words. We all have notions about what a word means. What is a socialist? What is a communist? I have a feeling your definitions would vary greatly. At the root level, you should all agree on the viability of both socialism and communism.

I am not a communist.

I am not a socialist.

Uh, and did you know that Iran supports Bush?

I would not recommend that you use arguments such as this to justify your political position. It shows a lack of understanding on your part. We as individuals need to support a candidate based upon our own beliefs, not based upon what others support or do not support. If you use criteria such as this, it weakens your own position, implying that you don't have a legitimate reason for you political stand but that you base it upon what others tell you, on what others do and do not support.

At least, that's what I get from this...

Just something to think about.

Ah geez... communism has such a bad reputation to it. It's actually not this evil demon; it would be a godsend to the 99% of the population (the proleterants) who aren't the ones raking in all the money (the bourgois). Personally, I'm all for it. Capitalism is great.. if you're the one with all the money.

I suggest some of you folks go out there and do some reading. And keep an open mind!

The only deciding factor for ANYONE come election day should be this: If you like what has happened to America over the past four years, vote for Bush. If you don't, and you want to let someone else have a shot at running the country, vote Kerry.

Everything else is just smoke thrown out by each party to try to confuse people and hide the fact that no one's talking about the real issues. All you have to go on is what Bush has done during his term in office.

Don't let others do your thinking for you.

w00t!! Go Commies!!

If you really consider the agrarian based society that Jefferson (founding father and all that) supported, it resembles communism more than our bastion of capitalistic “society” we revel in today. Perhaps it is because I come from a small town that this idea of simple living appeals to me. A smallish group of people banding together with the goal of mutual survival, welfare and benefit…humm where does that sound familiar from…

Oddly enough I am that much more excited about voting for not Bush this year. Thank you!!

oh please.
first of all, this is 2004, not 1954.
that whole "communist" smear? NO ONE cares about that shit anymore. it's played out like an 8 track so drop it or risk looking like an idiot.
second, i'm thinking you probably never went to the cpusa.org website to see if what you just pasted here is even legit.
and if the ku klux klan or the american nazi party were to endorse bush, would you care?
anyway...what I found at the cpusa site were 10 reasons to defeat bush. among them:
Bankrupting the Federal Government. (well, we did hit the national debt ceiling FOR THE THIRD TIME IN THREE YEARS. does that sound like "fiscal conservatism to you?)
The Disasterous War in Iraq. I guess I don't have to say anything about that little "miscalculation".
(oh, by the way, conservative republican pat robertson was on CNN the other night talking to paula zahn. he told her about a meeting he had with bush just before the war started. he spoke to bush about preparing the u.s. for casualties to which bush told him "oh, there won't be any casualties!" yep. 1100+ non casualies)

anyway, the cpusa joins many firefighters, police, teachers, clergy, top ranking military and republicans...in endorsing kerry.
does that make them all "communists" as well?

LOL...heck, it's one more reason to vote for him! Frankly, Communism works great on paper. It's just had some troubles in practice. ;)

But what really matter is that in 13 days we all get out there and vote. And my own personal hope is that we're all celebrating 14 days from now. ;)

If it makes any difference, my local chapter of the Klan supports Bush (according to a letter to the editor of my local paper). Just because whackos, freaks, or even just slightly misguided groups support a candidate is no reason to vote for or against that candidate.
