Once upon a time, when I was a wee lad, Saturday afternoons on Television would have football on every channel. Whatever channel did not have football would have badly dubbed KungFu movies, what were referred to as Chop-Saki. The football games would never include teams from my state, but would have Florida, California teams, and Notre Dame, Army, Navy.

With the insurgence of Exclusionary Sports Programming Network, now football games are not on broadcast TV. All of the channels are now showing infomercials all day. One exception is CW, which is showing ACC Network (this is in Green Bay, WI)and the riveting game is scoreless at the Half, and one team boasts a 0-6 conference record.
The benefit is the scores of all other games are tickered or scrolled along the bottom of the screen.

I suppose some think this is progress.

1. Jets are not playing this weekend, are they? Bills called a Snow Day IIRC.

2. Jets are Sunday football. Saturday is College Football. Friday is High School Football.

3. Ever since they let Jim Leonard go, they cannot stop anybody, and have progressed to suckage.

I don't pay for any special "sports package", yet on my fairly basic Xfinity channels there are at least a dozen plus games on every Saturday. From Notre Dame to Florida State to Alabama, etc. there's no game I cannot watch if I want to. It's actually ridiculous how many games are available. And as long as The Golf Channel stays with PGA and LPGA golf and not college football I'm a happy camper.

I just saw pillows on ABC, Vaccum on CBS, WORX wheelbarrow on Fox, and some paint drying on a soccer field on NBC. CW had ACC Football, and another had 2 1/2 men.

Local network channels? Time to toss out the coat hanger antenna. It's 2014, not 1954.

As stated in the OP, "Broadcast" channels. Or if you prefer, broadwave.

That's due to the NCAA milking the TV contracts.

The JOY of the SEC Network. Sure, they show games on Saturday, but most of the week is reserved for women's volley ball and women's soccer.

And it gets better ! There are 3,4,maybe 5 alternate SEC channels, set up to show multiple games, all at the same time !

Only, so far, all I've seen is just the main channel with anything on it. All others just have a static graphic , along w/ a loop of music.

The SEC probably has conflicts with all the exclusionary contracts they have with their opponents, usually from the Cupcake and Girlscout Leagues.

South Dakota State
Toledo
La-Lafayette
Presbyterian
Memphis

Have not yet found Southeast Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs.

Every team plays 1 - 2 cup cakes per season.

2 SEC teams in the top 4, 3 in the top 10. 5 in the top 20.

Your point is silly.

I often get the warm fuzzies in your neck of the woods. Whenever I drive out of the Atlanta Airport area, I find a huge number of Green Bay Packer fans. House banners, yard signs, mailboxes all displaying the Green Bay Packers logo, makes me feel to home. Not so much cheese wedges on the head, likely due to the heat, but still various shirts also show the Green Bay Packers logo, so it's like a home away from home. Of course, at home the Packers legal teams have cracked down on the usage of the logo.

I never figured out why so many Packer fans would move to the Atlanta area. Too warm, no seasons.

I did notice that, of the houses with paint on them, the paint did seem to be faded, just like the Packer signs they were displaying.

The place I was working at in Georgia also had some problems with paint, trying to find something the state had not outlawed. You folks dislike color? Or just paint?

Beer, wine, liquor... the whole schmere. Use to be you'd have to go to a restaurant or bar to order such items, and only then like after 11:30 AM or Noon. But now you can go to the liquor store , stock up and be back before 1pm kickoff of NFL games.

And it's Penn Jillette, doofus.

EDIT: OK, found it.

Why can I not find my mention that Mark Kelly won't win, unless there are categories of "Guns are Bad, Alex"?

After his abandonment of all sense, reason, and logic to pursue his Guns Are Bad propaganda, no surprise that he could not know that the large body found in the Asteroid Belt (position of 5th rock orbit, between Mars and Jupiter) was not Pluto or Neptune.

I was disappointed that Aaron - THE quarterback in Wisconsin for the last several years, did not identify the 2 Motorcycle Company Founders (Davidson and Harley), nor the smallest nation in Yurp.
And O'Leary didn't seem to get any of the category of Business.

Tonight the ditzy bimbo from Repeat After Me managed to achieve less than 20% of the scores of her opponents, before Final Jeopardy. That was under 10% share of the total points earned. Guess she needed that Lesbians Need To Be On TV, Alex category.
I don't even know who Mo Rocca or Neil Flynn are.
