In all fairness, there WAS a war going on, so yeah, bad optics. But here's the kicker. Bush recognized the bad optics, and stopped playing golf every frelling chance he could.

He did what Obama refuses to do.

Bush showed respect.

I bet this was "breaking news" on CNN, along with the breaking news of the replayed taping of a couple days old interview from a week before some breaking news thing called Christmas.
