Summer is ending down there, as it's starting to heat up in the N. Hemisphere. Temps generally are the warmest at the end of summer, as air / water have had the longest exposure to sunlight. The reports take time to come in, as data are collected. More ice means there's more to melt. Duh.

What is the monetary value of all the coal, oil, and natural gas in the world? The value is hundreds of trillions of US dollars. That's trillions with a T, not billions with a B. In April, the president of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, told the Guardian that it was crazy that governments were still driving the use of coal, oil and gas by providing subsidies.
