I mean who would have thought it.....

Quote:

A shootout between rival motorcycle gangs at a restaurant in Waco, Texas, left nine people dead and plunged the surrounding neighbourhood into chaos on Sunday afternoon, while dozens of police officers tried to head off further violence.

A fight broke out between "criminal biker gangs" at around 12.15pm local time inside a Twins Peaks restaurant in a shopping centre and quickly spilled into the parking lot, a spokesman for the Waco Police Department said. Sergeant Patrick Swanton, the spokesman, said the confrontation had started as a parking dispute and quickly escalated from a fistfight to a melee involving chains, knives, clubs and, ultimately, gunfire.

Swanton said that the authorities had been aware of the potential for violence at the restaurant on Sunday and that at least 12 Waco police officers had been stationed outside, as well as several officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and SWAT officers.
A McLennan County deputy stands guard near a group of bikers in the parking lot of a Twin Peaks restaurant.

The bikers opened fire when the police moved in to break up the fight, Sergeant Swanton said, and the officers returned fire. He said eight bikers had been killed on the scene and that one more had been declared dead at a local hospital. Numerous other people were injured, he said, but no police officers were hurt.

Sergeant Swanton described the Twin Peaks parking lot as "a pretty gruesome scene," littered with shell casings, knives, clubs and dead bodies. He said 18 people had been taken to local hospitals with a combination of gunshot and stab wounds.

"There are still bodies on the scene of Twin Peaks," he said. "There are bodies scattered in the parking lot of the adjoining business."
Authorities investigate a shooting in the parking lot of the Twin Peaks restaurant.

The police detained "numerous individuals" involved in the fight, Sergeant Swanton said, and arrested three bikers, carrying weapons, who were caught trying to reach the scene after the fighting had quieted down. He said they would be charged with "engaging in organised crime."

The police closed the shopping centre, Central Texas Market Place, and ordered people to leave the premises. Several hours after the fight began, the Waco police warned residents not to go to the area.

"Officers are continuing to arrest individuals coming to the scene with weapons," the department said in a message posted on Facebook. "This is not the time to sight see as we are dealing with very dangerous individuals."
Law enforcement officers talk to a man near the parking lot of the Waco restaurant.

Sergeant Swanton said the law enforcement officers were stationed outside the restaurant on Sunday because of previous trouble there.

"We have been made aware in the last few months of rival biker gangs - rival criminal biker gangs - being here and causing issues," he said at a news conference. "We have attempted to work with the local management of Twin Peaks to get that cut back, to no avail; they have not been of much assistance to us."

Sergeant Swanton said it would be "fair" to say that the fight was the worst violence in Waco since the siege on the Branch Davidian compound in 1993 that left 86 people dead.

The Twin Peaks restaurant is part of a national chain, and the Waco location opened last year, with company officials promoting it as the "ultimate man-cave," with 24 types of beer and at least 55 flat-screen televisions.

The restaurant also features a "Bike Night" on Thursdays.

'Fixer Upper' is going to have a hard time making Waco seem like just a normal, family-friendly town after that. There's only so far Chip and Joanna can cover up deep-seated rot in the neighborhood - and the state.

Ever since the whole Dave Koresh thing, I've been tempted to think of Waco as Whacko. I know... I'm casting aspersions on a whole townful of people based on a few nutters. But it doesn't help that Waco is in Texas.

Only 5 rival biker gangs, 9 deaths, 18 wounded, another 170 in jail. Sounds like just another rap awards party. Did Jay-Z and Kanye really travel to Texas for this?

Crime

overall crime rate including murder is far higher in the US than in France

the gun death rate including murder is far higher in the US than in France

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0004888.html
removing all guns could reduce the murder rate by over 2/3 - but it would still be far higher in the US than in France

It's not just the guns, and it's not just the nuts, and it's not even just the nuts with the guns - it's our society which promotes violence as a solution to boredom, politics, violence, disagreements, insecurity, young unarmed black men you are stalking being a threat to you, and a bad economy. And that observation is especially directed at the NRA and its supporters.

Banditos and Cossacks were the main 2, other gangs allied with them. The Banditos are the mexican riders, who enforce their right to claim Texas as their drug distribution territory.

Most of the violent biker gangs are known as "one percenters" and their members are very large due to the motorcycle providing more acceleration for their bulk than any car or truck they can fit in.

No, you really didn't get it.

Had they been black, they'd have been labeled "thugs" in about 0.2 seconds.

Same with the armed "peaceful protesters" at the mosque in Arizona. If it were a group of armed Muslims parading outside a Baptist church in Whacko, the right wing would be shitting its pants more than Ted Nugent in their rush to label them as "thugs" or "terrorists".

But as long as it's whitey, no harm, no foul.

Why won't Fox talk about white-on-white crime? Did you know most people murdered in the U.S. are murdered by white people? Why is Fox keeping silent about it?

And, as I said, the whole point went WAY over your head.

Yep, there it is and that is what I was waiting for. Till you said it was about race you had an out. That is why I first asked, what's your point. Those of us who are not caught up in bigoted hatred know without saying these guys are thugs, and the news portrayed them that way from the get-go. You think white people only refer to Blacks as thugs. Labeling someone a thug has to do with behavior and nothing else.

"Gun deaths are shaped by race in America. Whites are far more likely to shoot themselves, and African Americans are far more likely to be shot by someone else." 98% of blacks are killed by Blacks." Where a person lives matters, too. Gun deaths in urban areas are much more likely to be homicides, while suicide is far and away the dominant form of gun death in rural areas." (The Washington Post). Blacks only make up 13% of the population and that number includes those who do not consider themselves Black but the census does. Still Blacks manage to kill each other at alarming rates. White neighborhoods are definitely safer than Black neighborhoods. Just the facts matter, opinions only cause problems.

Gun deaths track better by poverty than race. But YOU made it about race.

POVERTY, NOT RACE, TIED TO HIGH CRIME RATES IN URBAN COMMUNITIES

http://www88.homepage.villanova.edu/lance.hannon/Racial%20Similarity%2
0in%20the%20Relationship%20between%20Poverty_Homicide.pdf

In fact, the results suggest that all else being equal, white homicide rates would outdistance black homicide rates if poverty rates were equivalent.

MEANWHILE - media response has been muted in ascribing negative descriptors to whites, as compared to blacks. THEY are making it about race.

Let us take a look.
98% of 151 blacks (per million) would be about 148 blacks murdered by blacks.
The 3 blacks not murdered by blacks plus the 15 whites murdered (per Million) would add up to a whopping 18 murders not committed by blacks.

EvilJesus states that whites murder more people than blacks do.
THUGGERY states that 98% of blacks are killed by blacks, and links to a chart which sustains that 148 (per million) blacks are murdered by blacks compared to about 18 murders not committed by blacks.
Is 18 really more than 148? Is this Libtard math?
Are both stating factual truth?

Assuming the U.S. population is about 300 million, then this translates to about 5,400 murders are committed by non-blacks, and about 44,400 blacks are murdered by blacks.

It's because you're wrong and white on white crime doesn't compare to the statistics of Chicago last year and Baltimore this month.

Baltimore records deadliest month in more than 40 years

" With three men killed in shootings on Sunday, Baltimore recorded its deadliest month in more than 40 years.

The 43 killings in May surpassed the 42 homicides the city saw in August 1990, and left Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake defending police and her administration.

Speaking at a morning ceremony to honor McKenzie Elliott, a 3-year-old killed by a stray bullet in August, Rawlings-Blake said it's time to stop finger-pointing and assigning blame for the recent violence.

The killing of African-Americans in Baltimore has to stop, she said, noting that 189 of the 208 killed last year were black men. For the city to improve, all homicides need to drop, she added."

The reason why so many murders are happening in Baltimore is because the police there are no longer policing proactively. They are answering calls and that's it. If someone shifts his pants like he many have a gun in the waste band they ignore it. If someone is behaving suspiciously they ignore it. They are policing in a war zone and people need to see the good they do by policing proactively (stop and frisk )on their behalf, and what it would be like without them around. Now people outside these neighborhoods get to see what the police are dealing with and how dangerous their job is. It's good that society is reminded of the professional criminal element that exists in these communities. The element that puts the lives of others within the community and the police who protect them in perpectual peril.

November 24, 2014

"According to statistics collected by the FBI, 76 law enforcement officers were killed in line-of-duty incidents in 2013. Of these, 27 law enforcement officers died as a result of felonious acts, and 49 officers died in accidents. In addition, 49,851 officers were victims of line-of-duty assaults. Comprehensive data tables about these incidents and brief narratives describing the fatal attacks and selected assaults resulting in injury are included."

I am all for programs that help the police, police less aggressively in these neighborhoods, but without a strong community desire to help the police take the professional criminal element off the streets, things will not improve. Until parents force feed school to their children in these neighborhoods, nothing will change. Until people in these neighborhoods move to where the jobs are, nothing for them will change.

Irrelevant. What the police did was take a man who was a suspect, handcuff him, then subject him to a series of internal vehicular collisions such that it broke his spine and killed him.

Is that what you're blaming 'blacks' for? Because, yanno, we all know what blacks are like. Right? Is that what you're exonerating the police for? Because their job is so tough they just had to kill a helpless, unthreatening man in their custody ... right? That IS the point you're making?

WACO, Texas (WPVI) -- More than two weeks after the deadly biker shootout in Waco, Texas, most of those arrested are still behind bars.

The McLennan County sheriff's office says of the 177 people arrested, just over a dozen have bonded out as of Monday.

Bail was initially set at $1 million for each person arrested in the shootout, which killed nine people.

BRENHAM, Texas — A bank teller and her husband, a veteran and factory worker, who were released from jail Monday, say they were swept up unfairly and treated as guilty by association in the arrest of the 170 bikers after the deadly shootout in Waco, Texas, last month.

William and Morgan English, from the Brenham, Texas, area, were released after their bail was reduced from $1 million to $25,000 each.

Many Harley riders like to wear the costumes, looking like the thugs of the gangs. And then complain that they are stereotyped. Like rappers shooting people. And women in pushup bras and lowcut blouses complaining men are looking at their cleavage.

OONJERAH

When Cleavage appears, I believe a lot of men do look at it,
maybe even stare at it.

As for the Shoot Out at Waco: Won't be forgotten soon.

Won't there have to be a Federal Investigation, & many politicians
calling for new laws to protect the public? ... from armed bikers
wearing colors.

Ever since I was a teen ('56-64), gangs were known to rumble from
time to time. With the formality of mutual agreement? With that in
mind, they must also have protocols for how to Not rumble.

This story doesn't fall into that category.

... oooOO}{OOooo ...

I've given up looking for the meaning of life. Now all I want is a cookie.
