Apparently lawyers for former Vice President Al Gore have filed numerous lawsuits against TIME magazine, alleging a series of voting irregularities they maintain deprived Gore of the magazine's "Person of the Year" designation. It has been announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin received the 2007 designation, with Gore finishing second.

Details of the suits are sketchy, but one of them accuses certain unnamed TIME employees of denying others the right to vote when it was determined they were leaning toward Gore. Rumors have surfaced that one employee, known only as "Chad", has confirmed those rumors. Another separate suit claims the voting process to be far too complicated to be understood by, to quote the lawsuit, "a bunch of journalists." Gore's lawyers are calling for a recount of the ballots in question. They also demand that independent observers from the United Nations Commission on Climate Change be allowed access to any recount procedures.

"Mr. Gore has won an Emmy and an Oscar for his important work, not to mention a Nobel Peace Prize," said a spokesman for the Vice President. "They don't even have an Oscar ceremony in Russia. Who ever sees Russian films anyway?"

Some Gore supporters have accused Republicans of using dirty tricks to manipulate the results. One close advisor, requesting anonymity, claimed, "Putin is just the kind of civil rights trampling dictator the GOP loves to see in power. It would be interesting to sit down with those who voted and find out just how many have been subjected to Guantanamo-like coercion. Republicans knew Bush wouldn't win, so this was the next best thing."

So far, there have been no official comments from the White House, the Kremlin or Time.

Damn, here we go again.

Sky...You don't step on Superman's cape, spit in the wind, or try to be darkly humorous concerning sacred icons of the Left. That will only get ya mocked, snarked, or ignored here. Merry Christmas!!

Though in thinking about it some more - I certainly lack comedic ability. But I love to see it well done by others. My impression is that comedy has to be both unexpected and relevant to be funny. Anything else is just lame.

It's both relevant and funny. It's crystal clear to most that once AlGore lost the 2000 election, he imploded. Then exploded ( around the waist ). And then went searching for a purpose to live. He found his 'purpose', masquerading as a man w/ a cause. To save the planet !!! He's adored by the DUMB MASSES, is accountable to no one, and gets to trash the very country which he feels wronged him by not making him President. It's all manner of hi-larious, as he , once again, he is denied to what he feels he's entitled.

"Hillary tried to get a million dollars for the Woodstock museum. I understand it was a major cultural and pharmaceutical event. I couldn't attend. I was tied up at the time." - John McCain

It is not those who use the term "Islamo-Fascism" who are sullying the name of Islam; it is the Islamo-Fascists. - Dennis Prager

I 'like' the Time subtitle for the person of the year award.

'A Tsar Is Born'
I just hope they are wrong. Putin worries me more than a bit, and I really don't think I'd've put him up as person of the year.

On the flip side, I nearly giggle at the thought of Gore being named person of the year either, so I guess I'm just not 'in tune' with Time.

"once AlGore lost the 2000 election, he imploded"

He did ? Or is that a figment of your partisan 'true believership" ? You know where facts get denied to maintain your own twisted fanatsies. I'm guessing the latter, since I don't see a whole lot of giggling from anyone.

"Then exploded ( around the waist )." And this is relevant - how exactly ? In fact, do you HAVE a point ? I'm guessing - no.

You know what they say - right ? Only someone would look behind the door who's hidden there himself. I'm guessing your life is terribly empty, you have no friends, your job sucks hairy balls and is low-wage besides. Except you have no answers to your own predicaments. So you cravenly criticize someone who seems to have got past all that.

In every single one of your posts all you can manage is a slew of unsupported partisan swipes - no facts, no argument, just invective. You must be feeling really bad about the repubican melt-down at this point.

Have you ever considered neuroleptics for your condition ?

Giggling? What's to giggle at ? The dude thought he was destined to become President, and then lost. He seemingly had everything going for him, except a personality. So after he lost, he became a recluse, added a tonnage of weight, grew a beard....yeah, he imploded alright. Hard to dispute that.

Yeah, he did gain a LOT of weight. Another undeniable point. If you want to dismiss it out of hand, then so be it.

So, by transferring your personal situation onto others, you can ignore the real world? How's that working out for you? AlGore's quixotic quest to save the world is the point here. Based solely in sensationalism and the ignorance of the populace, Gore as created a new iconic persona for himself, facts about global warming be damned.

Not true, as I've posted lots of stuff on FFF.Net which contradict your portrayal. In RWED and elsewhere, so put down that broad paint brush. And don't try reading anything else into these threads. It helps to stay on topic, if ya can. AlGore is a fraud, a moron and an imbecile. I don't care how much HE believes man made global warming, it's a complete ruse. The man is a living contradiction in the highest degree. He talks about global warming and carbon credits, but doesn't for a second live his life by those rules. His Nashville estate uses far more fossil fuel than President Bush's Crawford ranch.

No facts, huh? Screw you

Al Gore’s Personal Energy Use Is His Own “Inconvenient Truth”
Gore’s home uses more than 20 times the national average

Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk the walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

BADKARMA00

I would say something witty, if I wasn't laughing so hard that tears are clouding my vision. I can SO see Little Al, (that's what we call him here in Tennessee) demanding a recount for the Time award. It just fit's him, somehow.
And yes, he is a hypocrite when it comes to 'conserving' energy, and 'saving the planet'. He flies all over the place in his private plane, and his family drives gas guzzling SUV's or sports cars.
Well done. Oh, and well written, too, btw.
I'm e-mailing it to my friends, if you don't mind.
Happy Holidays!
