I'd really like to know what you libs make of this. (and Right-Wingers too) Admitting they're Barry's whores is suppose to make everything OK? They're trying to make this look like, OPPS! Did we do that? We did'nt notice we were whoring our selves for Barry and the Democrats, please keep buying our paper GAG ME! I think that there reps are now so damaged, it'll be decades before they'll be trusted by us right-wingers, if they're stay in buisness much longger.

Hello,

Modern news people are mostly salesmen, in my opinion. They are in the business of selling the news. They will sell whatever news people are anxious to buy.

It's actually not a new phenomenon. I read once that Civil War and World War I news photographers used to re-arrange dead bodies at battle scenes in order to make the pictures more dramatic.

there definitely was a tilt, because there wasn't enough negative shit to cover whozit. Whereas the Mccain campaign was a horrible blunder every other day.

If there had been more to cover on Obama, trust me it would have been, or have you entirely wiped from your memory the fact that Reverend Wright was covered almost nonstop for like a month?

should they fabricate more controversy just to make things "fair" and balanced?

Hello,

I believe there could have been at least an equal number of stories. Unfortunately, one of the candidates was just much more interesting to the average person. The new baby in the house tends to get a disproportionate amount of attention. The new puppy gets more cuddles and pets. The new great hope got more ink. And really, Obama does seem the sort of charismatic, well spoken man who people enjoy pinning their hopes on. The Democratic candidates who preceded him were by contrast largely uninteresting folks. (Apologies to them for saying so.)

It's a business. Maybe it ought not to be, but it is. They'll print what people want to read.

I'll be honest. I was much more interested in what Obama was doing than Mccain. I felt I generally knew about Mccain and his policies. But I knew very little about Obama, and so was eager to drink in the details. Palin got a similar treatment. Mccain's only surprises were when he made a mistake, so that's what tended to garner interest. Palin... She was new AND she made mistakes. That's why we saw so much about her.

In my opinion, of course.

You're rite McCain ran a rotten Campain, BUT! The press ignored all of Barry's buddies in Chicago and his voting record, (Mostley presant)there was plenty of negative shit to cover, the press ignored it, too late now. Obama will be next President, and that nut with hairplugs will be VP. This may get funny. There will be few jokes about Obama on TV, but plenty here, get ready

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

To me, this is the part that counts:
Quote:

The count was lopsided, with 1,295 horse-race stories and 594 issues stories.... Bill Hamilton, assistant managing editor for politics, said, "There are a lot of things I wish we'd been able to do in covering this campaign, but we had to make choices about what we felt we were uniquely able to provide our audiences both in Washington and on the Web. I don't at all discount the importance of issues,
Yes, he does.

THAT is 100% horse shit. Print and their inet extensions ALWAYS cover campaigns like horse races. And TV and radio ALWAYS cover "personality".

Quite frankly, I don't give a shit about a candidate's personality, who fumbled, and who's first. What I REALLY care about is what they've done and what they're likely to do.

My biggest reason for voting against McCain? He was going to expand Bush's transfer of wealth to the wealthy. The second-biggest reason was his pick of Sarah Palin, a woefully unprepared choice. The third was his planned continuation of the occupation of Iraq.

Barack's record is as a moderate-liberal. He voted for telcom immunity, he's for the death penalty, and he differs with me on a number of other issues. BUT... he said he was going to redistribute wealth (which BTW is the only sustainable way to run capitalism, otherwise it becomes like a poker game where one player winds up with all the chips) and focus on alternative energy. I have no illusions that he is a "radical" in any sense.

No shit, it'd be damned hard to find someone LESS interesting than Kerry, in all honesty.

What if Barry a moves to the right? He won'nt want to make the same mistake Clinton made in 1994, maybe that what was Biden was talking about, you remember, that thing 6 mounths from now that would drive his poll numbers down. Barry will be what ever he has be be to win in 2012, incuding a conservitive.

Hello,

I wouldn't mind seeing Obama adopt some conservative ideals. I think it's perfectly fine if he blends the two extremes and finds something palatable between them.

He does need to reach out to those of us who cling to our bibles and bullets. I don't need him to adopt such things, but I'd be happy to have my interests protected.
