These chips are in our passports...but now they are using it to track our guns.

Look up H&K P2000 + RFID, Sig-Saur too.

So what can we do about this?

You planning on doing something illegal with you gun?
If not then does it really matter if the have an RFID? Heck it might even make it easier in the long run if they are say stolen and used in a crime.

Kel,

Are you serious? So you believe the whole "Hey they can read my emails, track my car, monitor my purchases, reading habits....so long as Im not doing anything wrong I have nothing to worry about" B.S.?

It doesnt bother you one bit that someone can track you? The whole Alliance/Big Brother shit?

Are you sure you are on the right board?

Never said they can read my e-mails. Just said they could put an RFID on my gun.

Hell I will be the first in line! I have nothing to hide. I am not illegally transporting it, taking it where I am not supposed to or anything else that this device could catch me at. I have no worries (or fears).

That works right up the point that it doesnt.

The government SHOULD fear the populace. LEMs SHOULD fear the people.

We need to make them afraid again. They need to be fearfull of revolt if they try and oppress us even more.

They SHOULD be fearfull of the populace rising up and destroying them.

Righties seem to have no problem with this as long as it's to protect us from terrorists. Don't see why it would suddenly get them riled now.

But seriously,

Anyone repeating that vile phrase really doesn't get it. The point in protecting privacy, and restrictions on government in general, isn't to protect the guilty, or put shackles on the government when they've got it right. The point is to minimize the damage when they've got it wrong. If they get it wrong about you, do you really want them to have the power to control you without restriction?

Anything worth having is worth hiding. We have everything to fear from this kind of big brother crap. You people cheering for it are traitors.

Buy a screamer card, Wulfie.

Anyone pointing an RFID scanner at me gets a rude surprise, as the card reflects a signal back strong enough to easily drown out any other RFID that I might happen to be carrying.

Even more fun is if their scanner happens to be vulnerable to malware, or has a limited storage capacity, heh.

Works on a kind of echo-wall concept, and is about the size of an ordinary credit card (there's other units around but most are larger, none bigger than a PDA however), for every idiotic idea like this, there's a counter.

I won't reveal my sources, but if you look around, you'll find one easy enough.

Some of the research I've done on this suggests that it was an "accident". That he got a LEO' order by mistake....

Don't like it. Dont like the idea that this tech is out there. Thank God for the internet tho...

That works good until they try to tazer me and that doesn't work because of my anti-tazer body armor. Then they just shoot me in the face with real bullets for non-compliance.

Like my oldschool LTD. The only computer in that car is my MP3 Player with a transponder made in China so it bypasses limits made on most of them and a car 3 lanes down would probably have their radio station drowned out by me bumpin' "Wake Me Up Before Ya Go Go!"

Sure, she only gets 9 MPG on the city streets, but gas is only a buck seventy by me now. Any losses sustained by the higher gas prices is a pittance compared to what I lost in the market in 2 months, I figure......

Garbage can lids (dropped immediately upon impact) or big books work well too, & they're cheaper.
