John Lennon was murdered by a loonatic on 12/8/80, it was a Monday night just like this one. Most people learned he had been shot from Howard Cosell, (No Joke) he told the viewers during Monday Night Football.

America loves a winner!

I was in HS, and at the time, it really bummed me out. The parents of Mark David Chapman were living in a suburb of Atlanta, and I remember driving by their house, just to see it. I felt sorry for them and angry as hell, at the same time.

Later on, in art class, our teacher had us design a stamp, and I chose an image of Lennon, as my subject. Turned out quite nicelyl, as I recall. Wish I had kept it. Oh well.
