Shaq Came By Today...

I got away from the beachfront several months ago , and moved to an old farmstead...

Up on the front of the property is an old house that belonged to the folk who used to work the land...It's a duplexed rental now...

Several days ago I went up front on my way out to the road , and the lady renting the place told me she was sorry they'd blocked the driveway , but they'd had a death in the family...

I told her that I was sorry for the circumstances , and not to worry , as I was still able to improvise a way out to the road...

So , before noon on Friday , a couple of my buds came to visit , and one of them says to me ,

" Shaq O'Neill is up front..."

I said , " Really ? "

And they said , " Yeah , he's got two vehicles and an entourage , and his shoes are about THIS long " , with hands held about a half-meter apart...

They'd spoken with him and the crew on their way in ; and the lady that had passed away was related to him , an Aunt or what-have-you...

Just another of many similarly odd coincidences that have occurred with strange regularity throughout my life...

Shaq , if you chance to read this , I would've loved meeting you in another context , and I'm sorry to hear how this loss affected you...

I know that it meant a lot , your taking time to be with your kin in their time of grief...
