I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Just a comment in the interest of mental health.

Many of us have issues that we avoid thinking about, almost automatically, because they're too unsettling. Our minds touch briefly, and glance away.

SIT UP AND PAY ATTENTION WHEN THAT HAPPENS.

Those things that you shy away from thinking about seriously because they make you uncomfortable...Your mind has ALREADY made a calculation. It's telling you that the news is not good. So whether its the state of you 401K, the stability of your job, the faithfulness of your spouse, your health or the health of your family.... THOSE are the things you need to be the most rigorous about.

Denial may make you happier in the short run, and it even works 80% of the time because 80% of the time nothing "bad" will happen... but better have a "plan B". You'll feel a whole lot better in the long run.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.

From Indiana Jones:

Walter Donovan: "We're only one step away."

Indiana Jones: "That's usually when the ground falls out from beneath your feet."

You CAN spend your whole life worrying and fretting.. OR, you can deal with the problems, as they come, one by one.

Till you are past them.

Or, as the President of Mexico once said: "Last year we were on the edge of a precipice. This year I am proud to say we've taken a giant step forward".

Wulf, you don't sound like you're an "in denial" person! But some peeps try not to even recognize them. And living in fear of problems that you kind of feel are in the shadows but refuse to acknowledge... not healthy.

But first you have to give up. First, you have to know, not fear, know that someday you are going to die. Until you know that, you are useless.
- Tyler Durden

Its true. Go thru life worrying about whether you spouse is cheating on you, if you are going to lose your job, if you are going to go broke...and you will be useless.

Work so that these things dont happen, but know that some might. Be prepared but don't fret. You can deal with anything that comes your way.

Many men in history have fought harder struggles than you will ever have to face, AND WON. You can too.

Don't give up. Don't quit. And above all, do what you can, and let that be the end of it. Living your life worrying about what might happen is a waste.

Deal with what DOES happen.

"Now remember, things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is."
-Josey Wales.

Of course, this is coming from someone who's finally getting to watch the payoff of 25+ years of work, as in the first three months of 2009 the hellcamps and their infrastructure both physical and financial, have begun to come apart at the seams in an obviously-final kinda way.

And H R 911 has passed in the House.

Of course, my methods have come a long way from simply finding the root of a problem and applying a bit of the ole ultra-violence to it, which does, despite all else, have it's merits...

Yet, while the methods have changed, though, the essential matter of how to deal with a problem hasn't - we spend so much time struggling with the symptoms and effects of problems that we often fail to spare any for the root cause, which makes it so much wasted effort in the first place.

See clearly, strike quickly, never quit till the job is done.

Our current economic situation isn't gonna get fixed by trimming the branches - it's gonna get fixed when someone has the damn sense to strike at it's nefarious roots.

Usury, in all it's many forms.

-Frem

It cannot be said enough, those who do not learn from history, are doomed to endlessly repeat it
