U.S. sets up world's largest face transplant programme for disfigured war veterans

UPDATE: Note censorship of VA Reports on Gulf War casualties for the past 2 years, from a non-stop 20-year war now killing 12,000 troops per year:

Quote:

Department of Veterans Affairs Reports 73,000 er, 76,000 U.S. Gulf War Deaths

Historical Gulf War Veterans Information System (GWVIS) Reports (2007 is last report)
http://www.vba.va.gov/REPORTS/gwvis/historical/index.asp
http://www1.va.gov/rac-gwvi/docs/GWVIS_May2007.pdf

Total number of VA disability claims filed: 1,620,906

Percentage of combat troops that filed Disability Claims 36%

How come the government numbers of 3,777 as of 9/7/7 are so low? The answer is simple, the government does not want the 73,000 dead to be compared to the 55,000 U.S. soldiers killed in Vietnam Iraq = Vietnam. What the government is doing is only counting the soldiers that die in action before they can get them into a helicopter or ambulance. Any soldier who is shot but they get into a helicopter before he dies is not counted.

73,000 dead amongst the U.S. soldiers for this scale operation using weapons of mass destruction is not high - we expect the great majority of U.S. soldiers who took part in the invasion of Iraq to die of uranium poisoning, which can take decades to kill.

From a victors perspective, above any major war in history, The Gulf War has taken the severest toll on soldiers.

More than 1,820 tons of radio active nuclear waste uranium were exploded into Iraq alone in the form of armor piercing rounds and bunker busters, representing the worlds worst man made ecological disaster ever. 64 kg of uranium were used in the Hiroshima bomb. The U.S. Iraq Nuclear Holocaust represents far more than fourteen thousand Hiroshima’s. The nuclear waste the U.S. has exploded into the Middle East will continue killing for billions of years and can wipe out more than a third of life on earth. Gulf War Veterans who have ingested the uranium will continue to die off over a number of years.

So far more than one million people have been slaughtered in the illegal invasion of Iraqi by the U.S. Birth defects are up 600% in Iraq – the same will apply to U.S. Veterans.

Updated links.

3,000 more US troops die every 3 months, 12,000 die per year.

VA Reports from the past 2 years are censored.

This war has been non-stop for 20 years now, plus the additional invasions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Iran.

DREAMTROVE

The number is probably fairly accurate. It's in line with our own pentagon estimates which, it's true, are not being released. I've posted this overall story before:

To be a KIA, you now must meet the following requirements:

1. You were found in the arena of combat
2. You were on a combat mission at the time
3. You were positively identified
4. You were identified as being killed by enemy fire
5. You died in the arena of combat

This last one is the biggest one: Most soldiers die from injuries in the next few days. Since anyone in critical condition is flown to a military hospital in Qatar, and then Germany, then the US, depending on whether or not they live, then most fatally wounded soldiers die outside the arena of combat.

US law states that if a person dies from any related injury within one year and a day of sustaining that injury, it's established as the cause of death. Hence, Mike, if you were to clop John on the head, and he died 8 months later from that head injury, then it would be ruled a homocide.

In spite of this, it would not be ruled a war death if an Iraqi had hit John in the head with an IED and he had died the next day.

The pentagon admitted in 2007 that 40,000 americans had died as a result of the war in Iraq alone between the years 2002 and 2006.

Anecdotally, I know two people personally who died in the war, from war related causes, and neither was labelled as a KIA, both died in US hospitals within 3 months of returning home from injuries they had sustained in Iraq.

John,

Your article contains a major misstatement that undermines its argument, even if the facts are correct. This is just the sort of thing I'm talking about in terms of shooting down your own wingmen in your argument:

The use of depleted uranium or DU has no connection to the atomic bomb other than the word "Uranium."

DU is made of U-235, which is a very strong heavy metal, but barely even radioactive. Iraqi claims of DU deaths are totally bogus. The deformities and deaths you see pictures of were caused by chemical weapons. Whether you want to blame those on Saddam Hussein, Uncle Sam, Iran or Israel, is another matter, but you could live in a house made of DU and never feel the effect.

The A-bomb is made of U-238, a rare isotope that chemically behaves like Plutonium 239. Still, it must be compressed to critical mass to strike a fission reaction. People killed by a nuclear attack are killed by the heat released, not the radiation. The reaction's radiation leaves the area in a split second, and its main effect would be to weaken the immune system, but if you get hit by a 10,000 degree firestorm a second and a half later, that's largely irrelevant.

After effect deaths are generally due to the fact that Pu-239/U-238 is highly toxic, and causes rampant cell death as a heavy metal, through its breakdown products, and as high level radiactive debris. The fact that nuclear fission of Pu-239/U-238 is so explosive that it is impossible to detonate the entirety of the material means that most of the nuke will be reduced to atomic dust which will then settle on the landscape, and I wouldn't drink the water.

However, no amount of DU armor shrapnel is going to have the same effect.

In essence, I think your conclusion is correct, but it has to be arrived at scientifically, or the weaker points tear it apart.

You could argue that the US is about to collapse as an empire, but if you then argue that this is because of the wrath of god, you'll have little audience outside the choir
