Sometimes you own the libs. Sometimes, the libs own you.

This guy's good, in case you Americans haven't heard of him. Here's his analysis on some of the recent media coverage on haiti.

I particularly liked Bill O'Reilly's Michael Scott/David Brent "Keep your stupid plane!" moment (at 1:30-2:05) - if anyone here is familiar with 'The Office' (either version). And then Charlie's treatment of it

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Mmmm, I'd like to see more of this guy...damned BBC America doesn't air him; on the internet perhaps?

I'm ashamed of the British coverage, if that's representative. Didn't know about how they were focusing on the violence. I may watch "left-leaning" programming, but although they covered some of the violence, what I heard was disgust at the confusion and inability to get it right; like the truck that pulled in, found it too crazy, and PULLED AWAY, leaving hungry people chasing it!

What I heard most was that, while there were problems, the Haitian people were being very stoic and calm in the face of the enormity of the problem and their own hunger and thirst. He also neglected to mention that Maddow's coverage was TO EXPOSE the private companies offering armed guards, not to hail them! If that was slanted, I guess I can forgive him, but it would have been fairer to show the entire clip, rather than make it look like she was endorsing them!

That "undercurrent" thing disgusted me, as well as all the highlighting of violence. I haven't seen that at ALL, merely take-downs of Roberts and his stupid "pact with the devil" thing and, again and again, praise of the Haitians for how they were handling it and disgust at the confusion of the relief efforts.

Yes, I would like to see more of this guy, although he's concentrating on the British, it's always good to see what other countries are doing/covering. I'll look for him on the internet.

The coverage of FauxNews was right on; why he's so derisive of celebrities donating their time for a telethon leaves me kinda confused. They shouldn't? Many of them donated as well, and I see nothing wrong in getting a telethon going with people whose celebrity might bring in more viewers than "regular folk". But all in all, very illuminating. Thank you!

Err... don't know. It is BBC made so maybe. There's quite a lot of him on youtube, though some is not that good, or very UK focused. I'll look out for things to post in the future.

Yep, and I like that he actually gave them credit for something at one point. Good integrity.

I know, he gets a bit too cynical, even for me. It's quite a British thing I think - Bono for example, is routinely scoffed at by comedians over here.

I think he was giving Maddow credit (he doesn't always scoff!). His slant is pretty much Guardian-reading British liberal, as far as I know.
