While the local jackboot lickin "news"paper is dancing around saying so - the incident which sparked the cascade which is sliding into chaos here in detroit has left some interesting questions...

Thing is, the paper is dodging around what the real deal is - this was the cops dope, and Gibson and Everett (kind of like a real life Omar Little) were ripping it off.

Which leads to a lot of OTHER questions no one wants to ask, and certainly some concern about where the prorities of the local police happen to lie.

They're just one more mafia to me, only damn difference is official sanction and percieved legitimacy.

So, ponder that big production funeral all that sappyass talk about heroism in light of the probable truth being Huff died trying to protect the dope him and his fellow officers were flooding the community with, and likely partaking of themselves.

Damn right I am helping ram that 6.5million dollar budget cut down on em, and there's been a lot of call to have Evans fired too, even though most of this problem predates his taking the position and he may not have been fully aware of it - still, the guy is cracking from the stress in some really obvious ways, and I don't think he's makin the cut.

That was the cat's fault - she was trying to get to my pastry and stepped on the enter key, thus posting a blank with the old signature instead of the post, since I compose most posts in notepad and then try to review them for clarity and coherence.

The quote is from Hell Girl, a story about how revenge is a curse against victim and victor, a spiral of destruction that harms all in it's path, innocent or not - the second season goes deeper into this, but isn't out yet, alas.

Basic premise: the "deal" is thus - if you so choose to pull the string, to seal the pact, Enma Ai will take the soul (and body) of your tormentor straight to hell, but there is a price, there always has to be a price...

If you pull that string, YOUR soul is also condemned to hell, at the natural end of your life.

It's the same old "dig two graves" story, told from a unique perspective, but what carries it is the production itself, from the stunningly beautiful animation and Brina Palencia's (english dub) hauntingly eerie voice, to the phenomenal soundtrack (which was good enough I bought it seperate as well, and it didn't come cheap!) it's well worth watching.

One thing is sure though, one that string gets pulled - they're GOING to hell, Enma Ai is a force of nature as much as a character in her own right, and the music-theme once the pact has sealed shows it.

I think, even if you are not a fan of the genre, you would actually find it quite interesting, Anthony - and considering you can nail the whole series for around twenty bucks on Amazon, you'd definitely get your moneys worth.
