Dr Tom Barnett is the latest Browncoat. Dr Barnett is a noted strategist, journalist, buisnessman and best selling author. His books are master works of Global Strategy. He maintains a weblog where he occasionally takes a break from commenting on World events to share his thoughts on entertainment. His "Movie of the Week" is a regular feature. Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

How kewl...I remember reading long ago that numerous NASA astronauts and other scientists were big fans of Star Trek, but it's fascinated me that fans of Firefly cover the entire spectrum, from scientists to psychologists to philosophers and more, and some of them highly respected. Speaks volumes to me about not only the quality of Joss' works, but the complexity and how he's put out things which make people want to ponder and question.

Joss is a genius...I believed it from Firefly, liked it in Buffy, and was convinced it wasn't just an opinion when I looked for books on/about him and found SO MANY by such varied authors. This just proves it yet again. Thank you.

Expired, forgotten, spoiled rotten.

That is one of the more interesting takes on Firefly and Serenity I've read. As Niki said above, the series attracts people from all walks of life and that means we're going to get all opinions of the show. The fact that the series is capable of handling so many varying takes on it is probably further evidence that it is vastly superior to most of what is on television but I'm preaching to the choir if I write that here.

So, here's a guy who hates Wash and was glad that Whedon killed him (never heard that before) and adores Inaara (my least favorite character and one who I've only met a few people that really like here). Very interesting.

Also, glad to see the shout out for The Beat my Heart Skipped at the bottom of the page. Love that movie.
