"As Election Day draws nearer, top Democrats seem almost desperate and hyperbolic. The chairman of the Democratic Party, Tim Kaine, compared conservative groups' campaign spending with the Watergate scandal, even though no one has provided evidence of wrongdoing, let alone criminality.

Kerrey, the Nebraska Democrat, said the White House has careened from message to message all year without finding an economic pitch to reassure Americans deeply worried about finding or holding jobs.

"They said, 'It could have been worse, we did pass health care reform, we did pass financial services industry reform,'" Kerrey said. "Those arguments don't do much to much to confront what is a building momentum in the opposite direction."

Many Republicans say there's almost nothing that Obama and other Democrats can do at this stage.

"It's as if the concrete has already been poured around the Democrats' feet," said GOP consultant Kevin Madden."

As the day grows near I am filled with joy for what is to come.

WHOZIT

I hate MSNBC but may be watching it election night to see their pain.....I WILL LAUGH AT THEIR PAIN!! Maybe after the votes are counted Olbermann and Maddow will go to the top of 30 Rock, join hands and jump. I wonder what Mathews will feel going up his leg that night?

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I think I'd wait when it comes to counting my chickens before they were fully hatched. They might turn out to be rotten eggos.

Sure, Dems will lose seats, it's a given in a midterm. How many remains to be seen, and in some cases will reflect nothing more than people voting against their own interests out of fear and anger. I wonder how long people like O'Donnell would remain if they were elected? But then, we DO still have Bachman, so there's no accounting for the potential stupidity of the American people...

Would be interesting to see how you'd deal with the situation if the Dems only lost a few seats and retained power...probably hail those few seats as a major victory, as the Republicans already are, too. Nobody knows, nobody can say until the votes are in, but by all means, keep crowing away and predicting a landslide, it obviously pleases you and you obviously NEED to keep crowing about it...are you afraid it might not happen or something, or why else do you guarantee "pain" you will laugh at? Rhetorical question; we all know the truth.
