*snort*
And anyone believes signs like that to begin with ?
I mean Borders, who had it coming you ask me, but then those prices are flat lies anyway since if the list price of a book is $7.99 and you up the shelf price to $11.99 and then slash it by 60% that still comes to around $7.20 which ain't much of a savings.

Besides which, we ALL know some local furniture store who plays that game, IF they even *bother* with excuses they'll shovel that tired old "We made enough on the sale to pull it out" bullshit, yeah, right...
There's one down the way here that has a "GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!!!" so-called-sale about once a month, as the brothers who own the place "sell" it back and forth to each other.

I call bullshit.

I bet Borders still has entire exterior wall displays of 100% Harry Potter.

To Hell with everything else.

What's wrong with Harry Potter? It gets kids reading, doesn't it?

DREAMTROVE

John objects to it because it's Christian.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

*I* object to it cause it's literary psychological torture porn.

Seriously, it fails suspension of disbelief with me that Harry *didn't* wind up siding with the Death Eaters, given how everyone ELSE treated him, again, how you think I went all villainous to begin with, neh ?

If it weren't for my ex pressuring me to read them (and Robert Jordens tripe, and George RR Martins take-forever stuff) so she'd have someone intelligent to discuss it with, I wouldn't have bothered past midway through the second book, bleh.

Of course, I'm easy to bait that way, all she has to do is toss me a book I haven't read yet and wait for curiousity (or in the case of HP, train-wreck fascination) to kick in - the only book so far I couldn't finish was MikeyZ's Better to Beg Forgiveness cause it's so fulla hate and intolerance it reads like something wulfenwhiner would write, only with less skill, and it's the only book in my life I ever pitched in the trash, too.
That said, people know better than to wave Meyers work at me, it's fanfic, BAD fanfic (My Immortal comes to mind, here), the crummy story all of them wrote too but didn't kiss enough ass or sleep with enough people to publish...

But hey, it makes a buck, just don't expect ME to read it.
