female-prisoners-home/?hpt=hp_t2

Hello,

The fact that women are about to be released under this program, while men in identical situations continue to be incarcerated, smacks of sexism.

Yeah. But, on the other hand,

They'd probably be better off sending non-violent drug offenders of both gender off as a test case, but public officials seem to be dumb that way.

Hello,

Indeed. Unless they are trying to make the case that males are inherently more dangerous or criminal-natured than females, there's no reason to enact a program that favors a particular sex in any way, even if only in timing.

Ah yes, the inherent sexism that comes along with the ridiculous puritanism...

You know, I got a *LOT* of mileage out of that, once upon a time, not only cause of the ability to blindside folk, but also the extreme reluctance to admit they'd been chumped, or even roughed up, by a member of the "fairer" sex.

Still, if it means less people in prison where they serve no purpose, I'll grit my teeth and take it - the idea of locking someone in a box for an arbitrary amount of time is a completely idiotic way to go about things, especially if they are not an imminent, physical danger to those around them.
