Damn government agencies who think they can get away with anything

The new claims include an account stemming from El Salvador described by CNN affiliate Seattle TV station KIRO as very similar to the Colombia prostitution scandal purportedly involving members of the Secret Service and other government agencies.

The U.S. government official acknowledged there had been missteps among Secret Service members, while adding that such problems are to be expected given the agency's 147-year history

Why are "such problems to be expected"? Yeah, in El Salvador, and maybe Columbia, nothing technically "illegal" happened, but that's no excuse!

The problem with people being on unlimited budgets and lack of oversight is that, be it public or private sector, people will try to get away with whatever they can. THAT's something you can't look back and blame Bush for; it's been going on (and growing?) for more years than I've been alive.

Somebody needs to clean up this attitude; certainly it's been around since way before Obama, but I'd like to see him do some house cleaning and put some people on checking out ALL the departments. When we hear idiotic things like this, AND like the lack of oversight and corruption before the Gulf Spill, as well as the various monetary scandals in administrations by both parties, it should be a wake-up call that there should be more oversight and it's gotten bad enough that every part of the government should be checked out to change the attitude!

Interesting to see you agreeing with the Republicans, rather than Democrats like Sen. Chuck Schumer, about the need for independent review, housecleaning and oversight.

But Sen. Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat and Judiciary Committee member, disagreed and said Napolitano's investigation needs to come first.
