...of a WATER FIGHT, of all things. Guiness is weird, but these folks looked like they were having a fun time "breaking" the record:
Quote:

Maricopa, Az-7/7/2012) The people of Maricopa came out in droves for a chance to participate in breaking a world record for the most participants in a water fight. The current record is held by Bangkok Thailand with 3,471. That record appears to have fallen yesterday as 3,804 people were involved here. The number has not been verified by the Guinness Book of World Records yet. The water fight happened at the 7th annual Great American BBQ. The event was originally scheduled for The 4th of July, but was delayed due to a very wet day of rain in the desert community.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE mallardisme says although a World Guinness Record judge was not present at the event, the water-fight festival seems like a success. He says the event was heavily advertised and many companies provided buckets for water and squirt guns. He says to break the water-fight record the festival needed to have a ten minute water-fight. He says the event was very family oriented, and the atmosphere was fun, filled with excitement. 'They knew they had a chance to be in the record books. It was a hot day yesterday, so the water felt great,' he says.
