Thanks for not posting the entire article Kwick.....

At the same time, I bash you on the head for not at least giving some clever remark about it.

Do you think it was awesome? Do you think it asinine? Do you think it both?

I'm just messing with ya!

Holy fuck-balls! That was AWESOME!!!!

Two feet any way from center and we'd be laughing about the newest Darwin Award winner, but he nailed it!

Heh... Makes me feel silly about being nervous at a job interview. This guy would straight up ask them if they're going to give him the job before he left and if they even wavered one second he'd jump up on their desk, drop trow, and take a steaming pile of shit on their IKEA!

EDITED TO ADD: Oh... and I FULLY concede that even in my more adventurous youth, I could never do this, let alone even think of the possibility of doing this.

I think the lack of oxygen coupled with the loss of stomach from free falling would turn my land-bound hypertension into a full blown heart attack or aneurism before I had time to properly land.

A bit of both. It was simply amazing to see it, but it's something you can't get wrong more than once, ever.

Nope, neither could I. I jumped motorcycles, did motocross, raced cars, flew in tiny planes and gliders... but no, I could not have fathomed doing that.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Kwicko - has fast do you think he was going when he went through?

Story I saw said his horizontal speed was 155mph. And they said he essentially had a six-foot "bullseye" he needed to hit in order to make it. Keep in mind that as he's going forward at that speed, he's also falling at quite a clip as well.

I think Wash would be quite impressed. A leaf on the wind, indeed.

TRAVELER

I just saw the video of this and can't believe the distance he traveled. You could only see a small dark spot several hundred feet away that he had to go through. Some kind of crazy.

Jeez louise.

Yes, he could either have made it or been a candidate for the (always posthumous) Darwin Award.

You got me beat there too. I only shoplifted, "piloted" an inconspicuous 4-door Cavalier on covert beer-drinking/pot-smoking missions with the girlies and found out enough about drugs that even a guy like me thinks that mushrooms and cocaine is for spirits more free than I.

Oh... there was that one time when I "walked" up a wall outside of the pool hall and broke my leg on the way down. I've got nothing but pity for cats stuck up in trees now. Hell.... I was just as naive and sober as they are at the time.

Only a dumb ass like me would think it was a good idea to show off and "walk" up a wall and a pillar of bricks about 30 feet high vertically with no plan how to get back down.

I don't remember much, but I do remember asking if anyone had a trampoline or perhaps a large blanket they could all hold before my limbs gave out.

Probably should have seen if it was easy to climb down as it was to climb up before I got that high.

Dumbass.....
