Police arrest 'raging anti-Semite' in Kansas Jewish center shootings
By Saeed Ahmed and Catherine E. Shoichet, CNN
April 14, 2014 -- Updated 1132 GMT (1932 HKT)

(CNN) -- A Missouri man, with a long virulent history of anti-Semitism, is suspected of killing a boy and his grandfather outside a Jewish community center in Kansas City and a woman at a Jewish assisted living facility nearby.

While police in Overland Park, Kansas, stopped short of labeling the Sunday attacks a hate crime until they were further along in their investigation, the suspect -- Frazier Glenn Miller -- is the founder and former leader of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the White Patriot Party.

Both operated as paramilitary organizations in the 1980s, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups.

* * * * *

Video from CNN affiliate KMBC showed the suspect sitting in the back of a patrol car and shouting, "Heil Hitler."

Miller, the suspected shooter, is a "raging anti-Semite," who has posted extensively in online forums that advocates exterminating Jews, the Southern Poverty Law Center (the SPLC) said.

He has called Jews "swarthy, hairy, bow-legged, beady-eyed, parasitic midgets."

* * * * *

According to the SPLC, Miller founded and ran the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1980s. He was forced to shut down after the SPLC sued him for operating an illegal paramilitary organization and intimidating African-Americans.

He then formed another group, the White Patriot Party.

* * * * *

In the late 1980s, Miller spent three years in prison on weapons charges and for plotting the assassination of SPLC founder Morris Dees. The short sentence was a result of a plea bargain he struck with federal prosecutors. In exchange, he testified against 14 white supremacists in a sedition trial in Arkansas in 1988.

I find that last bit particularly interesting. This guy was a criminal. Not sure "plea bargained" is quite the same as "convicted", but he spent time in prison-- for weapons charges and plotting an assassination. And here he is with a gun, killing people. I thought the Second Amendment folks were assuring us that that would be the exception to absolute gun ownership freedom-- it would exempt criminals.

Or were all of his rights restored? Part of his plea bargain deal maybe? And just who were the folks who restored them, if so? Buncha liberal pussy judges in their black dresses? California commie liberal lawyers?
Buncha middle American liberal prosecuting attorneys?

I really wanta see some followup on this story.

Yep. Federal law prohibits him from purchasing or owning a gun, so obviously he obtained it illegally. Unfortunately, Federal prosecutions for illegal sale or possession of firearms seem to be a low priority for the Justice Department.

Conservatives & 2nd Amendment types DO hope these klan monsters would just go away.

You don't ?

But this story is getting plenty of coverage. As it should.

Not being covered are the muslim cabbies in Cleveland. Seems they're refusing, for religious reasons, to participate in promoting the Gay Games, or even allowing openly gay customers cab service.

Had they not wanted to bake a gay wedding cake, or photograph a gay wedding, we'd hear all manner of wailing by the msm.

Guess the muslims get a pass in this one, huh?

OMG, the tyrannical gun confiscating OBAMA federal government isn't prosecuting folks for illegal gun sales? Passing up those slam dunks? Just making lists do they can seize the guns later from law-abiding folks?

I'm confused. Does that mean that the NRA and the 2nd Amendment guys have been EXAGGERATING all along? or just flat out lying?

' Rush floats staged shoe throwing theory '

So says The Politico & USA Today.
One problem. He never did. It was a caller, not Rush, who posed the possibility.

Quote:

While Limbaugh said on his radio show Monday that he hadn’t seen it and was thus “ill-equipped” to discuss the incident, which occurred during a speech in Las Vegas last week, he still suspected the whole thing wasn’t as it seemed.

What was ACTUALLY said , on the show.

Quote:

Look, let me tell you, I can totally relate to people who think that he can't be the Clintons do staged or choreographed.

But I haven't seen it. I've got people telling me her reaction wasn't natural. But I'm sorry, I'm ill-equipped to comment. I haven't seen it. (interruption) No. I haven't cared enough to go try to find it. I really haven't. Somebody threw a shoe at Hillary. Big whoop. Maybe it's because in my subconscious I think it was staged our set up or whatever.

But the media ran with the lie, as if it were the truth.

It must be a Tuesday.

NPR isn't part of the liberal media, dont'cha know? It's the heart and soul of the whole thing, the propaganda mouthpiece so unpopular that it has to be government subsidized to spew the administration radical socialist line because it could never be popular enough to succeed if it had to compete with commercial media that tell the truth, like Fox News.

OK, there's one answer, buried in the body of the one story I could find a link to on CNN.com, the media having moved on to bigger and bloodier stories. Bozo ran a write-in campaign for the US Senate in 2010, got 7 votes... Earlier media reporting made it sound like a serious, organized, sponsored campaign.

I answered that up above, but you were apparently too busy trying to make a funny to read it.

If he's a felon, it's against Federal law for him to buy or possess a firearm. I don't know of any way to reverse this unless his conviction is overturned. He has to have had it stashed from prior to his conviction (and possession would still be illegal), or obtained it illegally, either by theft, or by having someone else buy it for him (straw purchase). If it's the latter, that someone else has also committed a Federal crime. As noted above, the Justice Department doesn't place a very high priority on prosecuting firearms possessions by felons or straw purchases.

Some states allow reinstatement of voting rights for felons if they apply and can show they're rehabilitated.

As far as I know, there is nothing prohibiting a felon from running for public office. The story of D.C.'s previous mayor, and current City Councilman, Marion Barry is an example. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marion_barry
ETA: It might depend on the jurisdiction. In D.C., for example, elected city government officials convicted of felonies relating to their city jobs (bribery, influence peddling, etc.) cannot, by city law, be forced to give up their position.
