...not sure what to make of this since the news broke, very tragic, RIP to the victims.
lots of speculation by media and random reports and random story on the net but I think we will get a clear picture after the Investigate Team finishes their job and the Blackbox and Flight voice recorder is recovered.

some of this might be incorrect but here's what I have seen, I will copy and paste form sources like the website avherald dot com

The flight left Paris, 66 people on board: 56 passengers, 7 aircrew, and 3 security personnel, the aircraft was also in Tunisia and Eritrea that same day. A multinational search started with French Navy, Egyptian, Greek, possible US help and others and recovery operation is under way. Wreckage from the aircraft was found in the Mediterranean Sea south of Greece Europe and north of Egypt. Some commentators from France and maybe Russia and maybe Egypt seem to think 'Terroism' may be a cause but it is not certain and all possibilities, weather, pilot error, flaw/accident are considered? On the day of the crash, the Greek defence minister, noted the aircraft changed heading 90 degrees to the left, then turned 360 degrees to the right while it dropped from Flight Level 370 to 15,000 feet (4,600 m). Shortly after the disappearance of the aircraft France began to investigate whether there had been a security breach at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The Aircraft in question is a European/French Airbus type aircraft.
Reports now say Seven messages produced by the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) had been received from the aircraft and contact was lost four minutes later the data, confirmed by France's indicates that smoke may have been detected in the front of the airliner—in the front toilet or lavatory and the avionics bay beneath the cockpit, there may also be an event involving windows and the three windows mentioned in the data are cockpit windows. Greek authorities say traffic controllers' last communication with the EgyptAir pilot found him in good spirits. Those controllers lost contact as the flight headed into the Egyptian area of responsibility. Egypt's Civil Aviation Minister said in a press conference, Egypt continues to call the aircraft "missing". The Government does not rule out any cause as of yet, neither mechanical failure nor terrorism. Aircraft's passengers were international passengers included 30 Egyptian and 15 French nationals, along with citizens of 10 other countries: Canada, Algeria, Belgium, Britain, Chad, Iraq, Kuwait, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Sudan. EgyptAir said two of the passengers were infants and another was a child.

No distress call was received, European Space Agency (ESA) reported Sentinel-1A radar satellite images showed a 2km long slick at position not far from the last transponder position, coinciding with the suspected area of impact of flight MS-804. French confirmed there were ACARS messages just prior to break down of communications warning however that they are insufficient to understand the causes of the accident until flight data or cockpit voice recorders have been found. Priority as of current is to find the wreckage and the recorders.
