Yes, because the earth is INFINITE! There's no way that 7+ billion people could possibly overtax the Earth's resources!

I think it's time you disabused yourself of that pleasant little fairy tale about our fearless leaders being some sort of surrogate daddy or mommy, laying awake at night thinking about how to protect the kids. HA! In reality, they're thinking about who to sell them to so that they can get a few more shekels in their pockets.

That's right! Did you know that the earth makes enough oil daily to supply ALL our needs, and that there's a big conspiracy out there to deceive us into thinking oil and coal are FINITE?

It's all those environmentalists, you know. They actually HURT the environment! I read it somewhere, so I know it's a FACT! Yup!

The article points out that carbon emissions generates 60% of their calculations.
It is a good thing that environmentalists are forcing us to create greater consumption by using fuels like gasahol which generate more greenhouse gasses and get poorer fuel economy and greater fuel costs, all based upon their junk science premises.

Trees grow back, water purifies and recycles, and there's plenty of coal, gas, oil for 100's of years. If not more.

Y'all be trippin'.

You are a person who has taken the concept of "cycles" too far. Yes, nature recycles. Nothing goes to waste on this space station that we call home. But let me start with the simplest of concepts: RELATIVE RATES.

Do trees grow faster than we cut them down?

There are more trees now in the U.S. than there were 100 years ago.

Interesting that that report didn't say anything about old growth forests, which is peculiar oversight.

ETA: oh, yeah rappy - No one went back to 1600 and counted all the trees, or counted all the trees today. They used averages, which are statistics. so, let me just point out that:

Let me just point out that the author left out vital relevant facts in the opinion piece. Doing that is known as cherry-picking. And whether you do that in the news, in discussion, in debate or in opinion, when you distort the facts, you've changed the nature of your communication into propaganda. But WE don't have any of THAT in the US, do we?!

Can you specify which report you are referring to? I don't see your linky posted previously in this thread. I'm not sure if you are bringing up a new point or replying to one already posted.

It was the link to the original report found in rappy's news article about the report.

I said 100 years ago. No one said anything about 1600. Geeze.

Forests grow, shrink and fade , over time. The myth of some ancient forest, around since the dawn of time is some tree hugger's wet dream.
