Yeah. You're right about that. I'm not old enough to actually know what Bedtime for Bonzo was, but I remember when I was a kid my dad told me about it. Nothing is a secret with the internet anymore but I'm willing to bet that in 20 or 30 years if the internet was never invented that this fact would have been erased from history by attrition.

That was a very different time though. There was no reality TV back then and wouldn't be until the late 80s/early 90s when "The Real World" debuted. There was no Facebook or other social media.

I think with how coddled and child-like our kids are by the time they get out of college if we vote The Rock in 2020, we'll have Kim Kardashian for President by 2036.

I meant that the fact Reagan was in the Bonzo movies would be "virtually" erased from history, especially without wikipedia. You are only the 2nd person in my life besides me and my old man that knew that about him. Not that I think it's a hidden fact or anything, but this is only the 2nd time in my life I've ever heard anybody talk about it. That's what I meant by attrition. Once you and me and the old man are dead, who would have known about it without wikipedia? I wonder if that was printed in the old hard copy encyclopedias?

First off, I'd like to say I love how you formatted that last reply to me. Maybe I'm just tired, but I can't exactly figure out how you did it. Would be useful information to know for the future if you don't mind sharing. :)

I never got into MASH even though my dad watched it. I never played with GI Joe figures either. I don't know why, but war stuff was never my thing. I was all about he-man and Transformers and Thundercats. Funny that they were always at war too, but watching humans fight just didn't interest me I guess.

I've actually always wanted to watch a Bonzo movie just to see how bad it was. Even if Reagan was as crappy an actor as we heard he was, at least the monkey would have been funny. Monkeys are always funny.

I think the best actors are the best liars, or at least have the potential to be if they don't suffer from guilt or lack in empathy. I wouldn't say The Rock is one of the "greats", but he's always entertaining and he's always believable in the roles I've seen him in. I guess I can't really say that an actor would be worse just because they make their living by telling lies though. Politicians do that too. The politicians lie to hurt people in most cases though. I don't know....


Yeah. I'm sure you're right that Reagan being an actor was in the encyclopedias. I just haven't actually seen a set of them in over a decade to look. They probably still have an old set at the library. Maybe I'll check it out sometime. Online encyclopedias probably have it too... but we were talking about if we were living in a world without the internet though.


I really hope I'm wrong about Kardashian for President too. It's not that unbelievable though, is it?

You were a big kid like my brother still is. That's cool. I'm not going to say that I don't still watch cartoons, but they're more of the Adult Swim variety and not for kids. My brother's 35 and I'd bet that even if he didn't have a daughter he'd still enjoy watching Cartoon Network during the middle of the day. :)

Even though I'd probably never watch them now, it is kind of sad when I found out a year or two ago that they stopped doing Saturday Morning Cartoons a while back. That was just a tradition that I thought was going to go on forever.

You don't have to buy them together. They both sell on Amazon; Battlestar Galactica (22 episodes, 28 hours) for $30, and Galactica 1980 (10 episodes, 12 hours) for $10. The original series dvd set includes an amazing 45 minute tribute to the show with cast members and directors reflecting on their experiences when the show celebrated its 25 year anniversary in 2003.

I own the entire new series in blue ray DVD. I've watched them many times. I loved the show but I'll tell you, it is much darker than the first series. What a difference 20 years makes. We've changed as a country.

At least they left a few of the cast you could root for till the show ended. Today it is too often that as the show progresses there is no one left to like. For me that kills it.

Sorry to hear that Brenda. My parents split when I was 5 and I was a latchkey kid by around 11 myself. I had to watch my younger brothers after school everyday for most of jr. high and high school. I'm pretty sure that's probably illegal now, but nobody thought twice about it back then. Childhood just don't last very long for some of us, I suppose.

Youtube is great. If you could get somebody to order you a Firestick, it would open up even more of that for you. You've already got the internet connection and the online tutorials to "jailbreak" it don't really require much tech knowledge at all these days. Recently got an upgraded one and I was watching TV shows on it in under 5 minutes. It wouldn't cost you much more than the Battlestar DVD does.
