Seriously...

What kind of mindless meat puppet needs to wait for Joe Biden* to make the decision whether it's good for the environment or not to ship wood from the US to Europe on boats before they burn it for "green" fuel?

Did anybody think to just store the waste products in a few bunkers in Texas so people had something to keep them warm the next time they have an Ice Age instead of exporting it?

Because this shit right here needs to stop.

Fuckin' Democrats. Too stupid.

6ix, I'm pretty sure you didn't read the whole article. I'm certain you don't understand that Democrats can only treat this exactly the same as coal mining. Democrats can't order the shutdown of coal mines and can't order the shutdown of wood pellet making, either, although both products are only the last step before changing into carbon dioxide coming from a chimney.

The Trump administration’s industry-friendly Environmental Protection Agency declared biomass power inherently carbon neutral, although it never finalized a rule to that effect. (Trump's people probably would have done the same for coal if only Americans were dumb enough to believe that was carbon neutral. All that ancient coal was once trees when the dinosaurs lived. Wood pellets are young coal.)

. . . the European experience shows that general policies to promote renewables can spark a massive shift to wood-burning if biomass isn’t specifically excluded. Things can change fast.

The world's leading pellet manufacturer, Enviva, built its first pellet mill in 2011, after Europe's renewable energy mandate created lucrative incentives to burn wood. It now operates nine large mills around the Southeast that can debark and crush and process logs into more than 5 million tons of pellets a year, and it has three more mills in development. It also operates five ports to ship its pellets overseas. It has 1,100 employees, not including the army of loggers and truckers who supply its wood. And it's based in Bethesda, Md., a reflection of its reliance on supportive policy from the federal government.

(These factories are why Democrats can't do any different than they would with coal. Can you imagine the Federal government buying every coal mine in order to shut the mines down? Are there 51 votes in the Senate to pay for that? I don't think so. That is what would have to done to stop coal burning. The Federal government would have do the same to wood pellet manufacturing.)
