A little enlightenment please..

To premise my question I want to be clear, I haven't done an extreme amount of research into the varying ethnicities of the Arabic world.

What I'm trying to understand is why the different factions of the muslim world are at odds. A good example is Sunni versus Shia. Is this something more related to region or actual differences in religion i.e. protestant versus catholic? Also, where do the Bedouin arabs play into all this? I saw on a documentary that Israel uses Bedouin arabs for varying jobs in the Westbank and Gaza, such as construction (AKA bulldozing and security).

In my understanding, it has a lot to do with:

"My way of worshipping Allah is better than your way."

There were also issues regarding politics, land ownership, and territories that were controlled in years past.

These issues are age-old. Christianity has definately had the same issues, and any-school kid has run into the same problem. "My dad is better than yours."

Essentially, it's all the same immature, childish behavior that's all but destroyed our world.

An Islamic will, of course, disagree, but that's to be expected.

So saith the minor in World History and Religions.
