Quote:Originally posted by Jongsstraw: Ten cops were injured in the Oakland riot. They had rocks and bottle gas bombs tossed at them. Millions of dollars of property was damaged or destroyed. Think about the children of these policemen having to see their daddy hurt for no reason. Didn't VP Joe Biden just a couple of weeks ago blather on about needing more cops to prevent rapes and crime? And this is what the Left does...try to injure or kill cops? Oakland, NYC, and Denver have all deteriorated into violence and mayhem. It's kinda nice though to see it on full display, and it's interesting politically to see who still supports this Obama-made G 20-style of destruction and wasteful confrontation. It's really nothing less than home-grown terrorism. I just hope it's all being recorded and filed properly for extensive use by every Republican running for office next year. So many Democrats and "prominent" Liberals have given their blessings and support for ows; well I just can't wait until every single one of them, except a few notable loons who will never concede, has to squirm in humiliation as they're confronted with what they've done.

Quote:Poll: The More People Learn About Occupy Wall Street, The More They Like It | “As Americans learn more about Occupy Wall Street, they are becoming more supportive of the movement’s positions,” according to a new ORC International survey. The poll showed that another 15 percent of Americans have become familiar with Occupy Wall Street since an earlier poll, and the portion of supporters went up to 36 percent. Nineteen percent disagree with the protesters’ positions, while the plurality remains undecided
Quote:We keep hearing that Dems who whisper a word of support for Occupy Wall Street risk alienating blue collar whites in key swing states — voters who tend to find outsized protest tactics culturally alienating. But some new polling suggests that in Pennsylvania, at least, this simply isn’t happening. Franklin and Marshall is out with a new poll gauging attitudes towards the protests. Overall, 57 percent of Pennsylvania voters say they would be very or somewhat likely to vote for a candidate who supports the movement’s goals, versus only 33 percent who say the opposite. And a plurality of 49 percent generally supports the protests, versus 37 percent who oppose it. I called Franklin and Marshall and got a breakdown of the data among non-college-educated whites, the category polling experts view as a reliable guide to blue collar white sentiment. The breakdown: * A majority of non-college whites, 53 percent, say they would be very or somewhat likely to support a candidate who supports the goals of the protesters, versus only 33 percent who wouldn’t be likely to do that. * A plurality of non-college whites, 41 percent, supports the protesters, versus 39 percent who don’t. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/blue-collar-whites-in-pennsylvania-back-occupy-wall-street/2011/11/04/gIQAbYctmM_blog.html my previous posts about the growing popularity and that polls show people approve more of OWS than the Tea Party. One day ago:Quote:Some 59 percent of adults either completely agree or mostly agree with the protesters, while 31 percent mostly disagree or completely disagree; 10 percent of those surveyed didn't know or refused to answer. http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/m07cd/poll_most_americans_support_occupy_wall_street/ days agoQuote:As Americans learn more about Occupy Wall Street, they are becoming more supportive of the movement's positions, according to a new poll from ORC International. The survey, taken Oct. 28-31, shows more adult Americans saying they have heard of Occupy Wall Street than when the question was asked in early October. Sixty-four percent of respondents now say they've heard of the movement, compared to only 51% in the earlier poll. The new poll also shows more Americans supporting the movement. Thirty-six percent say they agree with the overall positions of Occupy Wall Street, while 19% say they disagree. That reflects an increase in support since early October, when 27% of those polled said they agreed with Occupy Wall Street's position. And on and on. That rather contradicts the statement that Amercans approve of OWS less and less; I dont' know where that came from, except the partisan blinders necessary to back up unverified opinion. Haven't got time or interest in more; got to head for a meeting, then demonstration. I never said I was in a demonstration (except here in Marin); I watched the Oakland stuff for hours on two local stations, which gave accurate reporting as far as I could tell, and heard the stories of those of our group who went over and experienced it. The Oakland strike DID turn into a riot, and I detailed how that happened and why. Anyone who wants can refer to that thread, unless they want to spew more lies (which of course they are quite free to do, and will). I also posted (from news FILM and word of those who went over there) that the protesters were very pissed off at the damage, some went back to help clean it up, etc. I covered what happened in Oakland as clearly as I could, so I won't go back to that again. I'd say more, but it's a waste of time and I gotta go. Essentially, just about anything our little coterie of hard-core righties say isn't worth diddly to me; I know their intent, I know how little backup they will provide, and as for the list of violence, some of it is just plain wrong, and some of it reflects that there is violence everywhere, every minute, in America today. Now I'm off to try and help my voice and the voice of the majority of Americans who are sick to death of the current situation heard, if possible.
