Where I do disagree is with concealed weapon permits for all bar law enforcement. There is too much risk of the have-a-go hero, or indeed a road rage type incident (something we suffer from over here without the added danger of guns becoming involved).

A majority of states are 'shall issue' states meaning if a person passes all background criminal checks he/she is issued a permit. Some states require a certain number of hours of safety classes in addition to criminal background checks. The state I live in now is a shall issue state, but it has one of the most in depth criminal background checks including an FBI check. Again, law abiding citizens are scrutinized where criminals just carry weapons, ILLEGALLY.

When someone wishes to purchase a gun, do they have to take a test ensuring that they can use it safely, have somewhere safe at home to store it, and understand what they are legally allowed to do with it? If not, owning a gun requires the cash to purchase it and whatever ID is required (or you could open a bank account like M Moore)

Purchasing a gun is different. If it is a rifle or shotgun a person can purchase it and take it home right then. There is paperwork that includes name, address, serial number, and other pertinent legal info. To purchase a pistol a criminal background check is required and this can take a few days or it can be instant depending on the store. In my state, a conceal weapon permit acts as a background check so I can walk into a gun shop, show my permit and drivers license, fill out paperwork, give them money, and walk out with my gun. There are certain states and cities that this does not apply. All guns sold today now come with a gun lock included. Once more, law abiding citizens are scrutinized and the criminals just steal of buy guns on the black market, which is ILLEGAL.

Regarding MM, the dick, he failed to mention that the bank in his 'documentary' has an FFL which is a Federal Firearms License that allows the business to make firearms sales and transfers. Again, rigorous background checks are done for these to be issued. Not alot of banks have FFL's.

I appreciate you listening and you seem to be trying to understand. Thanks, most people wouldn't.

No concealed weapons! Everybody should carry their sidearms openly.

I think he actually had them mention that they were licenced. I have trouble recalling despite only just trying to watch it the other day (having owned the DVD for months) - fell asleep sometime about 3/4 in.

Wish I could say it was insightful criticism, but I fear its a sign of overwork and undersleep.
