Yanno, at this moment, that doesn't offend me.

Currently dealing with a situation where once again, some poor girl was blocked from anything resembling an actual education about these things, blocked from learning about and most especially obtaining any kind of birth control - told not to have feelings or desires, and then when the inevitable happens, then the roadblock to doin anything about that, resulting in YET ANOTHER generation of a mother hating their own child, just like her mother hates and resents her, for having ruined her life when the mother got the same damned treatment...

We keep them in ignorance, block them from information and access to birth control, try to force them to deny their own humanity, and then, at the very end when the INEVITABLE result of that occurs, cry in horror and block them from resolving it IN THE ONLY FASHION WE HAVE LEFT THEM, and then decry any of our own responsibility and chuck it all on them as we force them to have and care for a child they wind up resenting...

And you wonder why people these days are so fucked up.

I told that girl the truth, we, the adult world, ARE in part responsible, and much as I did try, one man cannot counter the ignorance, the arrogance, of a decade and more of lies and abuses, no matter how they try, and while none of the rest of em will ADMIT responsibility, it's there - blaming herself entire is exactly the wrong solution, and as for the rest, the decision SHOULD rest in her hands, but it doesn't, it rests in the hands of a fucked up society who's damn determined to kick you in the teeth every chance they get, pin you down, cripple you, prevent you from learning the things you NEED in order to survive, and then cast you out, abandon you, and leave you to swing when you hit the magic number - and then BLAME YOU for it all!

Do you really wish to condemn another life to that hell, girl, especially one you are not equipped or prepared to handle, that will wind up mentally and emotionally screwing the both of you up to where you repeat the same cycle as your mother just has with you ?

What then, child, is mercy ?

And not *ONE* fucking adult would look me in the eye, not a fuckin one.

So yeah, I'd rather get ridiculous about it and put a condom machine in an elementary school than condemn our youth to ignorance on purpose and then have the goddamned nerve to bitch at them for being ignorant.

Very, VERY hot button issue with me right now: Fair Warning, not likely to be very nice about it, neither.
