The thing about the guy in the utah story that's interesting is that he was a soldier, who was discharged, and showed signs of PTSD but never went into combat.

I think he saw something awful, and either he was self-medicating to try to get rid of the memory, or his army psychiatrist prescribed not-so-good drugs for him (to discredit him, shut him up, or similar) and things went from there. He could have turned to harder illegal drugs when pharmaceuticals didn't help him, or evidence of harder drugs could have been planted.

It's like that Muslim army psychiatrist that also went on a rampage. I don't think stuff like this comes out of nowhere. The common thread in both cases is the military. Something spooky going on.

Feh, nothin spooky about it, just ponder how badly you have to mentally screw someone up in order for them to survive and prosper within the military CULT-ure... all else follows naturally.

Only difference is, these days the coverup isn't so easy, word gets out when one of these wound-up nutters blows a gasket - even though they *did* attempt to jam the cell phone towers immediately after the psychologist went bonkers, nice try, that.

Only cause I was both crazier than they could ever make me to begin with (remember, loss of family, whole life wrecked, nihilism) and cause I seem to have an unbreakable personality.

Way they do it is break/crush/subvert the original personality via sleep deprivation, constant brainwashing, and forced exercise/physical abuse combined with spirit crushing measures like trying to trim bushes with nail clippers and dumbass shit like that...

Rare it is that a persons psyche can take that beating and remain intact, the slightest crack lets them shovel their bullshit into ones mind, only I'd ALREADY seen worse via an attempt to stuff me in a hellcamp, which failed, and the second-chance school, and was already more vicious than they were hoping for - the resultant personality conflict got me shunned, prettymuch outcasted and then eventually brigged and soon to be booted for "Personality incompatible with military service" - which essentially means impossible to brainwash....
Only they NEEDED someone who wasn't so mangled between the ears they were helpless without command holding their little hand every step of the way, and so therefore it went.

S'funny, half the "training" of special forces is UN-doing that original programming to crush every ounce of initiative or original thought out of their heads - think about the stupidity of that.

Byte, he may have had PTSD before he went into the military, you know and I know that it can be caused by other stuff too. Holly's cousin just went into the military, but she already has childhood PTSD from abuse when she was young, I wish she could tell them that and they could give her a position in the military that will be good for her, no combat please.
