I just sent money to The People's Republic of China for a model of Airwolf not available here in The People's Republic of America.
Capitalism is what fuels everything, eh?
At what age in Human socioeconomic evolution has ponzi NOT been employed, I wonder?
Golden Rule & whatnot.

Chris

A closer examination would almost certainly reveal that you bought something from one of the few capitalist microeconomies or "special development zones" as the communist govt. calls them, which is it's term for "capitalist economies that we so recently conquered but have not been able to convert to communism."

This is the ironic reason for China's success, their own inability to convert their conquests in the south. Those are now slowly converting the country, and when they do, the communists will fall. To say that anything you are buying is a product of communism would seem highly unlikely, except possibly those bamboo woodcrafts which are pretty nifty.

America, alas, is becoming socialist. When it gets there, nothing will be made here anymore. I just tallied the country of origin of all the consumer products in my house. It was close to a tie between korea and japan. After that, a fair number of chinese things and american. Anything chinese that wasn't from shenzhen, hong kong, shanghai or taiwan was antique. Most of the american good were older, but not all.

It's not that I have aversion to owning products that are modern industrial exports of socialist economies, there just aren't any being produced, save one:

Promise? And also, cites? Evidence? Proof?
The poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer; the gulf between the two is a gaping chasm, and the middle class is being pushed into the ranks of the poor.

You have odd notions of "socialism", it seems.

Mike, ya ever studied socialism? Wealth inequality is just the beginning. We also already have most of our decisions made by an unelected academic elite. That and the growing portion of the labor force and economy that are in the public sector, our now passing 1% of the population is employed just to beat up the other 99% (police, TSA, DHS, etc.) I think we're pretty well there.

The reason the left doesn't have any good ideas about how to get us out of this mess is because this mess is exactly what they have been jonesing to get us *into* since WWII, this mess is the start of socialism, and it's only going to get messier, until it ends with forced labor camps and death squads, which is where it always ends. Almost everywhere else has already tried this one, and now it's our turn.

Notice the world free market is doing well without us, it's not them that's shooting us down, we're shooting ourselves down.

I'm a firm believer in the ungoverned will of the people, and the more direction you impose on it, the more will of the few ruling elite, the philosopher kings, the worse things will get.

He also doesn't know socialism. He keeps mistaking unfettered, free-market capitalism for what he thinks socialism is.

Aristocracy - Big Business - Monopoly - One Party System.

Whether you're capitalist or communist, they have the same end result, and in reality, Fascism and Stalinism are the same thing in all but name.

The rich, the one party of Americ versus the poor worker class. It doesn't matter what you call America. Both are apt.

Socialism is not the same thing as Stalinism, but you must guard that one does not turn into the other.
