Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Okay, so I can't resist. I said in another thread that I'd thought of putting something about this up, but decided not to. But I've found it fascinating from the start, so what the hell:
Quote:

Scientology chief responsible for Tom-Katie split?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ marriage was allegedly affected by his relationship with scientology’s leader, David Miscavige.

Miscavige heads the controversial cult of which the actor is a follower, and was the best man at the couple’s wedding. Sources close to the couple told the Sun that the
“intense friendship” between the two men had doomed Holmes’s hopes of a normal life with her husband from the beginning.

The paper named Miscavige as the third person in the marriage and said he was mockingly known as Cruise’s “manwife.”

“Tom really values his opinion and Katie often felt like she came in second place,” News.com.au quoted a source as telling the publication. When it became clear how much influence he had over her husband she knew she had to get away,” the source said.

Miscavige had even joined the Hollywood A-list couple on their honeymoon. The 52-year-old heads the Church of Scientology and its affiliated organisations, and sees it as his job to protect L. Ron Hubbard’s legacy and defend Scientology.

He has been accused of personally authorising illegal and unethical practices, including the sustained harassment of critics of the church, the separation of family members and the humiliation and physical beating of church members, all of which he has vehemently denied.

Perhaps the most disturbing accusation against him is that Miscavige is somehow connected to the “disappearance” of his wife, Shelly, who has reportedly not been seen in public since 2006.

“According to Rinder and Brousseau, in June, 2006, while Miscavige was away from the Gold Base, his wife, Shelly, filled several job vacancies without her husband’s permission. Soon afterward, she disappeared. Her current status is unknown. Tommy Davis told me, ‘I definitely know where she is,’ but he won’t disclose where that is,” Wright wrote in the New Yorker last year.

The activist group Why We Protest has launched high-profile campaign to find her whereabouts, but without any success.

Some have claimed that she’s in hiding while others have said she died from cancer. The most sensational and sinister rumour is that she was sent away to an undisclosed location for behavioural correction.

Katie, 33, filed for divorce from Tom last Thursday, and one of the main reasons she took the step was because she feared their six-year-old daughter Suri would be heavily influenced by Scientology if she stayed in the relationship. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Entertainment/Tabloid/Scientology-chief-

I always found Scientology fascinating, in a weird, scary way. They set up a booth across the street from our Saturday demonstrations, and all it shows in the way of signs, etc., is stuff about "stress". I have to walk past it to get to the garage where I park my car, and I always have the urge to holler "It's about Scientology, don't be fooled!"

Obviously Tom has no thoughts of his own and is mind-controlled by Misgavage.

Tom Cruise's daughter is L Ron Hubbard's Devil Seed and this is her Messianic palace!

I'm very pro intense friendship, but seriously, going on their honeymoon? Katie never should have married Cruise, it was obvious from the start that this relationship was doomed to fail. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did with scientology involved. I heard that in order to become a scientologist, Katie had to stop being in contact with her family, hello? Who wouldn't see that as a bad sign? Katie was stupid, at least she figured it out eventually.

Kat is a Roman Catholic. That is a tough nut to crack. Scientology breaks down the mind from all the bad memories and condition memories to think a different way or open to a new way for a better full life. As in the Masonic world who you are helps elevate you to the top. But the ones on the bottom of the pyramid do all the labor. The people on the bottom or bottom feeders are like Moonies. The Papists instill a lot of guilt to control their followers. These cults get bigger with all the cash they receive but the poor still goes hungry.

Katie signed a prenup paying her $3-million for every year she is married to Tom. And she never had sex with him, which is what all Tom's wives say.

No brainer, except for being artificially inseminated with L Ron Hubbard's demon-seed on her "honeymoon" with David Misgavage. Or did Misgavage substitute HIS demon-seed?

I note for the record that Hubbard wrote Battlefield Earth which is both my all time favorite book (tied with Starship Troopers) and my least favorite movie (also tied with Starship Troopers).

As for the Scientology business...I thought he and some other scifi guys made that up as a joke back in the '50s.

I noted for the record that RON Paul has the same name as L. RON Hubbard.
Coincidence? You decide.
