Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Ouch. Of course the Big Guys on the right are funding that tax break, and of course Romney/Ryan would love to give it to 'em! Thank gawd for all the REAL AMERICANS who're contributing $5, $10, and so forth to Obama, or he wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell!!!

Yep. Obama has only raised about $135 million more than Romney ($432 million to $279), getting about $273 million from large contributors as opposed to Romney's $213 million. So Obama gets about as much from large contributors as Romney does overall. Gotta love those REAL AMERICANS with fat wallets.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

So let's do the math:

Obama raised 432M of which 273M came from large donors, leaving 159M or 37% coming from real Americans.
Romney raised 279M of which 213M came from large donors, leaving 66M or 24% coming from real Americans.

Meanwhile

http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/campaign-finance

Obama
campaign 435.9M
DNC 223.3M
PAC 35.4M
= 694.6M with 5.1% from PAC money, raised mostly from unions and public organizations, and 39.1% from large donors.

Romney
campaign 260.9M
RNC 323.1
PAC 111.5
= 695.5 with 16.0% from PAC money, raised mostly from EXTREMELY wealthy donors and 30.6% from large donors.

I think I see a pattern here.

Of course, with the maximum individual donation limited to $2500, lots of people can be "large" donors. Looks like in your world, the middle class aren't "real Americans".

The link doesn't show this data.

I does show that of the money contributed to Super PACs, 49% of the contributions for Democratic PACS are of $1 million or more, while for the Repubs it's 32%. So there's apparently a lot of fat cats out there feeding the Democrat's coffers.

America loves a winner!

I know I can't pay enough to get Obama out of office, but that doesn't stop me from trying.
