"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

This is news?

Heck, there's a whole movie trilogy based on thought experiments about this.

"It could be, though, that we're incorrectly interpreting evidence of certain fundamental laws we are as yet unfamiliar with."

Truest thing in any of the articles.

Actually, the idea of "The Matrix" predates The Matrix movie by a lot....

Good on the W. Bros for making an awesome movie and two shitty sequels to it...

Even better, good on Lawrence W for becoming Lana W, even though he is hideous as a woman....

Probably should have done that shit about 20 years earlier before the adam's apple had time to grow, girl....

Put me down for this. We already have E=mc^2, which is a kinetic energy barrier for particles, and no one previously has argued that's a sign that we're in a simulation created by some outside of universe influence.

However, I don't rule out the possibility that this universe is a black hole fecund universe offshoot from an older universe, and that "information" in a scientific sense from that universe has influenced and maybe even organized our universe. Other possibilities as well, but I like the math on that one.

Barriers can and do exist, the universe does seem to have an organization scheme/latticework, but we don't really have the language yet to see the bigger picture or interpret the data. It's the difference between describing a single rock and describing the entire earth. A "simulation", like every term we have invented to describe the universe, can only be a crude analogy within the cultural bias - and the agendas of people who are more philosophers and theologians than scientists - that gave rise to it.

But we all could be holograms...
