Anderson, Beto O'Rourke, Mitt Romney, Bill Richardson, Andrew Yang, John Edwards, Michele Bachmann, Bill de Blasio, Newt Gingrich, Bernie Sanders, DNC loyalty pledges, John Wolfe Jr, Mo Udall, Henry M. Jackson, Harold Stassen, Jerry Brown, George Wallace, Howard Baker, Bob Dole, sometimes a less controlled gets in, some person with ideas like 'Ron Paul', a 'Randall Terry'

"Third party" is a term commonly used in the United States in reference to political parties other than the Democratic and Republican parties. An independent candidate is one not affiliated with any political party.

Its not been totally controlled, even a Jimmy Carter might be successful or a 'Trump' then you have some wacky piratenews character Vermin Love Supreme and the other controlled Democrats or Republicans at Bohemian Grove.
