I've been watching a channel called Nomsy for about a year or two now. Unless it was for a movie I've yet to seen that I have any intention at all of watching in the future, I've seen every video he's put out so far. They're an enjoyable watch even if it's a movie you haven't seen, in my opinion, but everything makes more sense the more familiar you are with the story and characters.

I never considered sharing the link here until I saw this video today called "Final Destination from Death's Perspective is Hilarious". I can't say that it's because it's the best video he's done, because that would be hard to judge even if I rewatched all of them, but once I saw it today I thought that if this were my channel and I were trying to sell it to somebody, this is the video I would be putting first on my resume.

You should watch it, Ted. It's not got anything at all to do with politics, but watching these could be a good exercise in empathy.

could be posted in the cinema scifi section?

La Jetée maybe...they are trying Japan POV Anime but some of those Asia Japanese toons are weird...you have breaking the fourth wall stuff like Psycho, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, 'Wayne’s World' or 'Amélie' or Deadpool or there were brief moments of it in the original Robocop, unique story telling maybe Run Lola Run (1998) or Timecode 2000...Mad Max Fury Road almost goes there for a while

Enter the Void (2009)

Hardcore Henry

No. Not the Sci-Fi because he does this for all different types of movies.

I would probably say the other standout in my memory was for "The Dark Knight from The Joker's Perspective is (something)". He's also done cartoons like "The Lion King from Scar's Perspective...".

Interesting, but I think you're missing what he's doing here. This guy is basically writing a lot of the "off screen" stuff you don't see in the movie itself. Mostly what certain characters are thinking and feeling before and after key events from the movies play out. And then while showing scenes from the movie he is narrating it from the perspective of that character. It can get quite ridiculous and hilarious at times when you're thinking about a movie from a viewpoint that you normally wouldn't otherwise view it from.

These aren't just movie reviews or something, and that's why I didn't put it in the Cinema board. This is a new idea, at least to me, and I don't see a lot of new ideas these days.

Passengers is one I've seen re-done or re-wrote even more to possibly make it better or more creepy horror

rather than Chris Pratt being lonely ... its Jennifer Lawrence who wakes up and they do it longer so they dont know if he's bad, a MeToo Weinstein molester or crazy or 'sabotage'

I think the original channel that re-done a lot of movies went down during 'Covid' or was it copyright strikes

but there are others and youtube dot com @Nerdwriter1 is still up
https://x.com/TheeNerdwriter

Someone has 'fixed' Passengers

This switches the POV of the movie from Jim to Aurora, meaning that it could have led to a genuinely unsettling first act as we see what Jim has done to the ship, questioning his moves as to if he's a good guy or a bit creepy.

The Seventh Seal is one where the focus is on Death...they didnt go the whole meme Thanos didnt do anything wrong, in the comics Death is an entity a woman and Thanos is 'In Love' with her in the movie it kind of shows up as RedSkull in a Black Cloak on a dark quest to collect all the space stones. 'The Night House' movie has a lot of creepy poltergesist style creeking bump in the night creepy nothingness, 'The Grey' can also be seen as Nature as an entity trying to consume man.

Japan had ‘Ikiru’ for Death it was supposed to be inspired by Leo Tolstoy, however I have not seen it

Hyperion is one that worked, kind of a new characters view, the Simmons novel scifi is one that changes perspectives but its basically just a retelling of The Canterbury Tales originally wrote between 1387 and 1400, Orwells 1984 was retold as 'Julia', by Sandra Newman a different view. Pulp Fiction is basically stories retold from another single perspective and before this movie its Rashomon everyone talked of

Rashomon, a type of movie story telling way ahead of its time

I didn't mean I haven't seen viewpoints in a movie from different character's perspectives before. The idea of "walking a mile in someone else's shoes" isn't new, of course. What I mean to say is that I've never seen anybody write out dialog for side characters and bad guys before and then basically do a 15 minute re-narration of an existing film from a perspective that most people would have never considered before. He effectively puts the movies through a lens that the writers and directors did not intend you to view the movie through.

Unsurprisingly, it's not a coincidence that he has also done a "From Thanos' Perspective" video as well, so I wasn't surprised to see you bring that up.

You should find a movie or two that you did enjoy from his list of movies and give one a watch and see what I mean for yourself.

He's come up with something new here, and I've seen other channels start to ape off of him. People should know that Nomsy was the first guy to be doing this though.
