I was just searchin the web looking for Sci Fi books and vids when I came across this site http://home.austarnet.com.au/petersykes/topscifi/lists_tv.html

What a load of crap! Firefly was beaten by Mork and Mindy! not to mention a whole heap of other crap..

The person who compiled this list must have a problem with his brain being missing...

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I am curious as to how exactly the owner of that site came up w/ the order on that list. There are shows on there from the 50s I have never heard of before. There are also shows ahead of Firefly on the list that anyone who ever watched an episode of Firefly would ever consider to be a better show.

Did you read his description of Firefly? It sounds like a butchered version of the show and he makes it sound as uninteresting as possible, dismissing our crew as doing nothing more than acting out their dissatisfaction of having lost the War, as if they had no motivation or direction besides being rebellious.

I would not take that list at all seriously. Obviously it is a personal list done in an order of the site owners choosing and is not based on any sort of popular vote.

Speaking of voting, I did not see anything there to indicate there is a place to vote for your favorite shows.

I just e-mailed the site owner through the "contact us" link and gave them some feedback of their SciFi TV Top 100 list asked for an explanation of the ranking system used.

What's even weirder is that Brisco County Jr. is on there, which is more of a western than anything, and Buffy and Angel aren't.

I loved Brisco County Jr. Never mind that it had Bruce Campbell in it, who I think is the greatest B actor of all time, but it was just a campy, funny show.

I would disagree about the show being solely a western though, the Doc and all of his projects took the show into a more of a western/sci fi role. Sure it is a tenuous claim, but none nevertheless it is there.

my guess is that the site owner has never really seen Firefly , he might have caught the odd episode just before faux cancelled it

Oh, I don't disagree with you. I loved Brisco as well, and some of my favorite episodes are the ones where Brisco is trying to figure out what the giant orb is. But to leave Buffy and Angel off -- both of which aren't purely sci-fi, nor is Brisco -- is contemptuous.

I think it's extremely funny that "ALF" would be on anyone's list of the best Sci-Fi shows....

And ditto on the love for Brisco County Jr. Anyone know when that will get a DVD release? (I mean c'mon - ALF is out on DVD!!!)

I was horrified when I saw this list. At least Farscape did well. In any case, I voted at the link on the top of the page and gave them a piece of my mind.

And who do you rule, the large dark-nipple people?
