Okay I keep seeing Blue sun pop-up in Firefly, my guess is that it is some multinational Microsoft like corporation. Any input?

At the official site, www.fox.com (DAMN THEM), there is an advertisement for Blue Sun that runs like a commercial starring Kelly (from the official weblog). It was the advertisement that was playing on the vid-screen when Jayne called the Feds. It's a Coca-Cola-like product.

Yeah, but Arrow, Levi, Fruit of the Loom, Savant and other clothing manufacturers don't have their names blasted across the front of their clothes. I've never seen a t-shirt that read, FRUIT OF THE LOOM across the front in gigantic letters. Usually, it is only a small embroidery above the pocket, if even that. I have seen Coca-Cola t-shirts though, and I'm not sure what the foodstuffs are that River tore apart. Are you sure it wasn't a beverage?

What about "Nike" or "Tommy Hilfiger"... Lots of companies put their logos on shirts. Depends on the kind of company.

It's probably a company that makes a lot of different products.

As for the food stuffs, Book said "we'll have a few mystery meals..." after she tore off the labels. So I assume it was food.

Ho-HUM! Looks like I'm corrected. We know that it is a beverage (It was a beverage ad that showed on Ariel, see for yourself on the official site.) We know that it is a foodstuff (If it WAS cans of Blue Sun that River tore into. I didn't catch the labels, but I'll take your word for it.) And, it may or may not be clothing, some manufactures advertise themselves, but most do not. I'm going to really watch for Blue Sun now.

Maybe it's been said, but maybe the reason River went medeival on the Blue Sun merchandise was that it is tied to the Hands Of Blue Men. Blue Sun = Blue Hands?

Their company probably has a bunch of secret divisions that do all this human testing and such, that screwed with River's mind. The adverts for soda and clothes are just a cover. At least I'm guessing so, and hoping we'll get the chance to find out.

Alrighty, heres my theory on the Blue Sun (and my first post here)

Excuse my spelling, Im sleepy and typing this fast so I dont fforget to later.

Since the government is probably bad, its probably some sort of Socialism (aka bad communism). Meaning it controls all aspects of life, industry, technology, military etc. Blue Sun is probably the government's official name, possible derived from a location, a system with a blue sun maybe, like Japan being the land of the rising sun (asian, take note to that too, lots of chinese in Firefly).

Since they control everything they stamp the blue sun lable on everything they make, food, weapons, clothes, etc.

Hopefully this rambling made some sense... gonna go sleep now.

You're going to have to do better than that to convince me. The woman on the advertisement for Blue Sun smacked her lips and gave a big I-just-drank-a-soft-drink-in-front-of-a-camera smile. If the Blue Sun logo was a governmental seal, wouldn't people be saluting it instead of thirsting over it? And why would Jayne be wearing a Blue Sun shirt like that in front of the Captain. He's got balls that clank, but that's over the top, even for him!

I kinda like that Pepsi Blue conspiracy theory, though. I hope Pepsi turns around and tucks it up Fox's ass for canceling their vehicle and the greatest show on Earth.

Viva Firefly!

what is more apealing to people? nice tasting soft drink with a pretty girl smiling that her blue sun drink is so good or a bunch of straight neck people saluting the blue sun flag?

I would love it if Blue Sun does have government ties and it was a clever way to comment on the Corporatization of the government.
