Do I see a family resemblance?

This painting by Angus McKie was used on Vangelis's album "Hypothesis," back in '78, and I remember it as well from a book cover I saw as a kid. I always dug the ship - probably why I think Serenity's such a kick-ass design.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot - I met Jewel this weekend. ;-) She's purdy.

Well... here I am.

Yeah, like the Mona Lisa is a half-decent painting. Congrats, you very lucky person.

You were at Galaxy Con Buckaroo? Were you w/ the NoVA Meetup group? I was there w/ the Richmond group. I was the one w/ the brown coat.

Yes, Jewel is a beautiful woman. What's really great is how down to earth and friendly she is to the fans.

Yep, that was me! I had glasses, wearing a sportcoat (not brown, unfortunately) and a blue shirt. It was cool to meet you guys from Richmond... We should try some kind of regional meetup sometime! And yes, Jewel was a sweetheart. I'm amazed at how generous the BDH's are when dealing with fans.

The image in question is from the 1978 book "Spacecraft: 2000 to 2100 AD" by Stewart Crowley (ISBN 0-89009-211-7). The ship is the "Interstellar Queen" passenger liner.

Additional images of the Interstellar Queen painted by Angus McKie are available here:

Looks like it was intended to look as a futuristic Concorde.
