So, my wife and I are having a Big Damn Party with a firefly theme. We want to have ice planets and Firefly-looking outfits and stuff. Anyone got some other ideas?

Heheh... Groomsmen with blue gloves...

I definitely suggest that you try out some of the "wedding ceremony" stuff discussed in "Our Mrs. Reynolds", as CHRONICTHEHEDGEHOG mentioned.

Chinese food like dumplings and eggrolls? Oh! And strawberries. Must have fresh strawberries if they're in season. Perhaps some hot cheese.

The reception buffet should include apples, with knives. And sliced tomatoes, with chopsticks. And yes, some kind of hot cheese.

And while there should be plenty of "real food", a selection of "Protein in all the colors of the rainbow" would not be amiss. I'd suggest hummus; it has the right consistency. You could color it with food dye. Pita chips for dipping.
