So I was in a used DVD store and happened upon the Firedly DVD set. i thought I remebered hearing about this show and Joss Wheldon creating it. Being a big fan of his work on Astonishing X-Men I thought i would pick it up. Well about 20 hours later I had watched every episode.
That is an amazing show. After I watch each episode it saddened me to know this show is not on anymoe. I kept hoping for more episodes "next" season. Why did people not watch the show, or at least why didn't Sci Fi channel pick it up. I cannot wait for the movie to come out.

My question for everyone here is, if the movie is succesful do you think there is a chance for the show to return?

Like no other show I have become so attached to the characters. the humor is perfect and the different story archs are entertaining and engrossing.

So many scenes illistrate this but I gotta say one of the more powerful scenes for me, and there are many, is after Mal and INora have an akward conversation outside of the bedroom after Mal had sex with the whore. i forget her name at the moment. The next scene did it for me. Inora on the ground crying almost put me in tears. I hope Mal and Inora's storyline is furthered in the movie.

Count me there on opening day.

How did a Firefly DVD come to be in a used DVD store? I can't believe that someone willingly let such an object of desire out of their possession.

I can only imagine that someone bought several copies of the box and did put them in a used DVD store to make people buy them there and get them hooked.

Keep flying,

Yes, either that or they're completely nuts! :) I was thinking the other day that it would be a cool idea to buy a DVD set and donate it to Goodwill. Although donating to a library is probably the best way to go.

Hi Early7 and welcome!
There seems to be some debate about whether it would be possible for the show to return, but there is definately talk of a trilogy of movies! Not the same, I know, but better that nothing. :)

Okay, MniJonas, I'll bite. What is "ngu"? In order for us to properly appreciate your sentiments, you're going to have to be a bit more intelligible.

A quick Google doesn't turn up anything complimentary, or applicable to a TV series; although if it was a Freudian slip, you have my sympathies...

Quizzically,

Why did you not watch the show!?

Seriously, your's is a common story. It seems that there are far more fans now than when the show was on the air. Heads should roll at Fox.

I am a huge fan of sci fi, and mostly every show, or movie that is put out I give a shot.

To be honest, I hardly remember promos for Firefly. I really think it was mismarketed along with the time slot. I am rarely home on Fridays to watch TV. If I am usually I am playing games or watching a movie.

Even though Enterprise has sucked throughout the last few years I watched it, because nothing else was on Wed nights that I cared about. Now that it has moved to Friday nights, even though from what I hear it is getting better, I miss many episodes, if I forget to record them.

There really should have been some change in how they marketed it. From the few commercials I saw, it didn't seem of a great high quality, but after watching an episode it is better quality than everything else on TV.

If only they would have stuck with it like they did woth Arrested Development.
I cannot beleive that SCI-Fi channel did not pick it up.
